Chapter 63 - Curiosity Kills The Cat (2/2)

Bai Xu saw his boss rushing into his office. He followed him. ”Sir, here is the rest of today's report.”

Xi Jian just muttered and told him to get out. Bai Xu still stood where he looked doubtfully. ”Is there anything else?” Xi Jian glanced at him.

”Miss Wei wants to meet you, she said she has an important proposal that she wants to submit in person. I told her to wait in the meeting room. Should I tell her to go or come here?” Bai Xu expressed it nervously. Xi Jian looked at him coldly.

”No need. Just send her home. ” ”

”She said she knew who the girl was seven years ago.” Wei Nuan already knew Xi Jian would refuse to meet her, so she asked Bai Xu to say this if it happened according to her predictions.

Bai Xu started working for Xi Jian five years ago, he only heard a little rumor about what happened to Xi Jian, but couldn't prove it without digging deeper. Bai Xu once tried to access the case, but the next day all of his computer data was lost and a text appeared on his screen.

'Curiosity kills the cats. And I don't want a cat that have just worked with me to die. Don't put your nose in other people's business.'

Bai Xu was sweating coldly and could not sleep all night. Who would have thought the person he was dealing with was his own boss. Bai Xu faced Xi Jian the next day, apologized and bowed deeply to Xi Jian. Xi Jian just looked at him coldly. He returned all of Bai Xu's data with the threat of making his life miserable if he repeated his actions. Since then, Bai Xu stopped digging up information about Xi Jian. That man prefered e to show it himself if he wanted Bai Xu to know. A month after he hacked Xi Jian's case, Bai Xu swore he saw the worst of the worst.

Xi Jian took him to one place. When they arrived, several people looked down and made way for Xi Jian and himself. At first Bai Xu did not know what they were doing there. When he saw that man entering a prison-like room, Bai Xu saw someone sitting on a chair. His condition's severe, his face was almost unrecognizable, some of his fingers were not shaped like fingers in general and his nails were gone.

Bai Xu smelled the pungent odor of blood in the room. With a cold atmosphere that making all his hair stood, Bai Xu realized Xi Jian was directly showing the consequences if he dared to betray him. After he got out from there, he knew what that place was and who his boss really was. Bai Xu swore that he would never betray him.

Bai Xu was still waiting nervously. He was actually curious about what Wei Nuan had behind her sleeve, but also didn't want to make Xi Jian even more annoyed because of that woman.

”Tell her to come in.” Xi Jian said after a moment.

Slightly surprised, Bai Xu did not immediately respond. He blinked many times then rushed out.
