Chapter 42 - Painful Impact (1/2)

Now they were alone, sitting face to face in the restaurant. Bai Xu just left after signing the contract.

”Well, Miss Ling. What should we do?” Xi Jian looked at her coldly.

”You can continue with lunch, Sir. I will return to the office.” Ling Yue hurried to her feet. She better get out of here before this man has other thoughts.

Xi Jian stretched his legs blocking Ling Yue's steps. He even planned to tackle her if this woman dared to pass him.

”How can I eat alone, of course I also have to treat my lawyer, right Miss Ling?” His smile didn't reach his eyes. ”Sit down!”

Ling Yue bit inside of her cheek. She could have passed by and stepped on this man's feet with her 3-inch heels. Although it was short, she believe it still has a painful impact. Too bad it can only be done in her head. Ling Yue could only do that if there was a possibility she would not see him again in the future or willing to be sued and end up in prison for hurting his superiors.

”How could I miss it? It's an honor to be treated by you, Mr. Xi,” She gnashed her teeth and sat down.

Xi Jian still put on his fake smile, called out the servant. He ordered special lunch set from this restaurant and deliberately ordered a large portion of middle size prawns. He let Ling Yue choose too.

”I thought I want to eat this, but it's too bad I don't want to get my hands dirty. You can eat it Miss Ling.” Xi Jian pushed his prawns plate to her.

Ling Yue looked at him suspiciously. ”Are you sure?” 'He's an influential person, is it possible he asked an insider to put poison in it?'

Xi Jian didn't pay any attention to her and ate another dish on the table. Ling Yue grabbed a plate of shrimp and began to peel it. The smell almost made Ling Yue drool. She brought the peeled shrimp to her lips and before entering her mouth, it snatched away.

”I changed my mind, it looks like the shrimp looks delicious,” he pinched the shrimp in Ling Yue's hand with his chopsticks and ate it. ”Hmmm, this is really good. Come on, Miss Ling, peel it again.”

'I kneeeew it! Damn it!'
