193 Laz Vs Brian (2/2)
”We need help,” Vivi commented before pulling out her phone.
”We do,” Ruby agreed as she turned off the feed and started texting.
...
”It's time for you to understand that you will not be unopposed. We are strong enough to fight creatures such as yourself. In fact, the human race has been blessed with far more power than you can imagine..” Brian, continuing on with his role play, raised a hand at Laz. Soon, white streaks of tattoos started to appear on his face as his eyes went went white while his voice become much fuller and grander sounding.
”It's time to end your reign of fear, monster.” As Brian's voice echoed over the large room, a streak of lightning shot out from his fingers, catching Laz by surprise. As the blast hit him, Laz found a strange amount of energy hidden behind the small streak, causing his entire body to be blown backwards.
As he skidded to a stop, he looked down, only to find the spot where the lightning had hit to be blackened, but not injured.
'The hell is this?'
Laz, despite his lack of official schooling, wasn't stupid. Lightning's greatest power was the burning it did caused by the energy inside of it. If it was compared to a video ability, it had piercing and burning power, but shouldn't have any knock back per say. And yet for some reason, this strange bolt shot out by Brian did exactly that.
While Laz was confused, Brian was shocked. He had engaged in some questionable activities and had killed more than one man using that attack. Most of the time, the attack would rip through the person in question and leave a charred out hole on their chest. And it wasn't like Brian was holding back although he didn't give it his all. But the results were completely unexpected.
Both young men took a second to stare at each other while silence covered the room. Then Laz smiled while Brian became angry.
Laz had figured out what happened. Thanks to his strengthening, Laz's body was many times stronger than a normal person. As such, when he got hit with the attack, although it didn't do any damage, there was a lot of force behind it, causing him to be shot backwards. But no matter how many times that happened, it wasn't a cause for alarm.
Brian also realized that Laz was going to be much harder to bring down that he originally though. But he wasn't deterred.
Clenching his hands, Brian's entire body stiffened as the lines on his face became more pronounced. His eyes also turned a more pure shade of white as bolts of electricity shot out of them, unable to be restrained. It was clear that he was going to do something much bigger.
Laz could see this and wasn't about to sit still. He braced himself and took off, shooting forward. Just as he was about to reach Brian, gunshots rang out as the men behind Brian opened fire, causing Laz to have no choice but to change course. Laz wasn't worried about the darts hitting him as he figured early on that they wouldn't be able to penetrate his skin. The problem now was that there were several high velocity rounds that had been mixed in and he didn't think it would be a good idea to take that head on yet.
Laz jumped to the side narrowly avoiding the hail of fire when his senses started screaming at him. Laz ran towards the wall and jumped forward, planting his feet on the wall and pushing himself upwards. For the people observing, it looked like he was running up the wall.
Suddenly, a blast sounded out from below him as he pushed off and looked down. A large portion of the wall had been blasted away and chunks of stone and wood were flying everywhere. Based on his spiritual senses, Brian had lobbed a large ball of lightning at him the moment he had gotten to the wall. Had he been hit, there's no telling how much damage it would have done.
As Laz landed and he looked at Brian, he saw Brian smile as the lightning was crackling off of him. Brain raised his palms and formed another lightning ball in mere moments.
'How the fuck does this work?' Laz thought as he started circulating his energy while allowing the black flames to shoot out from him. He shut his eyes momentarily as he felt his blood boil and when he opened them again, they became suffused with a blood red glow while looking back at Brian.
Originally, anyone watching would have felt bad for Laz since it looked like he was being unfairly attacked. Despite what was being told to them, he looked entirely human and it was difficult to associate him with the monsters they had seen on the news and internet. But now, standing in his full battle form, Laz had taken on the appearance of a demon. When contrasted to the light covered Brian, he really did look like everything bad they had been saying was true.
As Brian shot out the attack, Laz didn't back down this time and charged forward, using the long ignored Dragon Fist technique he had learned while powering it with his black flames.
As the lightning ball hit him, Laz swung his fist forward connecting to the raging ball of energy. As his fist made contact, Brian couldn't help but grin. He had no clue about how strong Laz was, but there was no way he was going to come out of this ok.
'Even if you're not dead, you'll be so messed up that capturing you will be easy. And standing there while stepping on you? I will look like even more of a god who slays monsters...' Brian had literally fallen into his own delusions at this point. The only thing he could think about was using Laz's defeat to fuel his own fantasy of being worshiped.
And Laz really looked the part of a demon.
He couldn't help but say a quick thank you to the Global Sciences people for giving him this chance. Of course he planned on walking all over them too in the future.
Just when Brian was about to continue with his self made script to progress the story, the rush of energy from the blast cleared up. Brian's face turned extremely stiff at the sight.
Although Laz's clothes were rather messed up and torn in various places, he was still standing up right while tightening and loosening his first, almost as though trying to stretch it out.
”Well. That hurt a bit,” Laz said while looking over at the stone faced Brian.
”My turn.”
