Chapter 93 - Night Of Dreams (End) (2/2)
It's all decided for us
This world has only one
Sweet moment set aside for us
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
Who?
Who dares to love forever
Oh, when love must die?
But touch my tears with your lips
Touch my world with your fingertips
And we can have forever
And we can love forever
Forever is our today
Who wants to live forever?
Who wants to live forever?
Forever is our today
Who waits forever anyway?”
Kennedy couldn't stop herself as tears fell. Laz didn't say anything. He just brought his arm up and pulled her in close.
”Who sings that?” She asked as she got herself under control. Kennedy didn't really listen to older music so it wasn't something she heard before.
”A band called Queen,” Laz answered.
”Mmm, I've heard of them.” Kennedy said as she snuggled up closer.
”Most people have, just maybe not this song. It was a good one, but not their most popular,” Laz explained, recalling what he knew.
”Would you want to live forever?” Kennedy mumbled.
”No. I wouldn't,” Laz couldn't help but think about his current messed up situation. In all honesty, he didn't think that living forever was a good thing. It kind of took the thrill out of things.
”But, what if you were in love with someone?” Kennedy asked, even quieter than before.
”Mmm, then I would want to live as long as she did, no matter how long that was.”
”And after?”
”After? If she were to die?”
”Yeah.”
”I don't know. I guess, I would decide when I got there.”
”Laz?”
”Hmm?”
Kennedy said something, but Laz didn't catch it. He looked over and noticed she was asleep. He couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was when she slept. She looked far more relaxed than when she was awake. Turning over to the other side, he saw Malene's rather innocent face as well. His feelings towards her were somewhat complicated. But no matter what, considering what had just happened, she would always have a place in his heart as well. Not knowing exactly when, Laz too fell asleep, surrounded in a beauty sandwich.
At some point, hours later, a figure was standing at Laz's bedroom door. The figure didn't make a sound or movement, it just looked at the sleeping figures in the room. Had someone been looking at it's eyes, they would have seen their icy blue color and the long, bushy midnight black hair that draped down past it's waist. Shaking it's head, the figure disappeared from the doorway, never once making a noise.
This was how the night ended.
