Chapter 44 Aggression (1/2)
Of course, Laz couldn't say this to anyone. Well, he wouldn't even if he could. Laz was still young, but coming into contact with Kennedy had taught him that sometimes, it'e best not to say anything.
As the focus of the day was going to be volleyball, the guys seemed to get a bit excited. As it was, the girls were all around 16 years old while the guys were only around 14 on average. This doesn't seem like a huge difference, but when you are that young, it makes all the difference in the world.
Laz had two opinions about this class as to why it might actually be enjoyable. The first thing he thought of was he had become taller than almost every other guy in the class, minus the narcissistic three. Between his height and his overall strengthened abilities, he knew he would be the top performer in class if he tried. In fact, he had the feeling that he could perform on the national level at this point. Between his sense perception and his overly powerful body, he was pretty sure there wasn't anyone that could be stronger than him anymore. At least not normal humans.
But Laz wasn't this foolish either. He had never really performed well in gym. In fact, he never really tried at all. This wasn't to say that he didn't want to or couldn't, he just never felt motivated enough. Imagine having to go do something by yourself over and over again. No matter how much you enjoyed it, at some point, it would start to get lonely and you just wouldn't be able to work up the inner drive to keep going. Life was like that sometimes. Just means you need a bit of a reset, or a friend.
Fortunately for Laz, no matter if he realized it or not, he had found a bit of motivation in Kennedy. It was somewhat unfair to put her into this position of his driving element, but even just knowing that she knew him and that they had a bit of friendship going on was enough to cause Laz to finally feel that inner fire he had been missing.
The other thought Laz had about why volleyball was going to be a good time was for one simple reason: Boobs. That's right. Those 16 year old girls had definitely started to hit the home stretch of puberty and were developing in all the right places. Although Laz was a bit of a gentleman on the outside, he was not hesitant about spreading out his sense towards all of these walking examples of jiggly softness in the form of a sport's wrapped package.
Of course, Laz wasn't going to leave out Kennedy from this sensory overload of mammary marvelousness. As he senses drifted towards her massive twin peaks of womanhood, Laz had to surpress the now raging dragon that wanted nothing more than to scream it's majesty to the world. Just as Laz was about to use his senses to probe that deep valley of softness, he realized that Kennedy was still very angry about something. Her face was red and she seemed to be grinding her teeth as though she really wanted to squash something. Laz and his raging dragon let out a somewhat dejected sigh as they both calmed down.
'I wonder what's wrong with her?' Laz couldn't help but thing to himself as he watched her pace back and forth while waiting for class to begin.
All of the sudden, Kennedy froze in place and looked around, as though something had startled her immensely. She looked around next to her several times to confirm that there was no one there before she felt her own forehead.
'Oh?” Laz thought, 'Whats wrong with her now?'
At this moment, Kennedy froze once again before turning and glaring right at Laz. Laz couldn't help but take a big gulp of air as he saw her almost shoot energy bolts at him with her eyes.
*Are you talking to me?* Laz all the sudden heard in his head.
*WHAT?* He thought out loud.
*That's what I would like to know. How the hell are you doing this?* Kennedy asked. She turned her head away from Laz and muttered something about fucking pigs as though she was disgusted by him.
Laz felt really confused by this until he noticed Tommy was glaring at him from the other side of the gym. As it turned out, he had been watching Kennedy which was why he noticed her death glare at Laz.
Now he was glaring at Laz as though Laz had kicked his grandma and pissed on his dog. He honestly didn't know why he was giving him the death gaze, but it figured it had to do with Kennedy. It seemed like he thought Laz was making rude gestures at Kennedy or something and decided he wanted to do something about it.
Although Laz didn't know what was going to happen, he seemed to get a bad vibe. Something about Tommy felt wrong and he only noticed it at this point. No matter what the situation was, the fact that he seemed ready to kill after only seeing Laz looking at Kennedy was a bit outrageous. But Laz had seen that kind of ”kill you till your dead” look before. The one where the guys eyes get all creepy and bloodshot and his veins start bulging as though he's trying way to hard to push something.
*Your boyfriend looks kind of pissed at the moment.* Laz decided to think.
*He was being a real asshole today, more so than usual. Normally, although he is an asshole, he hides it well and more people don't notice. Today he was just... WAIT! You still haven't explained how we are doing this.* Kennedy mentally yelled while keeping her gaze on the door that people were walking in from.
*I'm not really sure. Give me a few to think it over.* Laz replied. He really didn't know how he could hear her thoughts, or why. Or better yet, why some thoughts were hidden while others seemed to project to Kennedy.
After working out a few thoughts in his head, he decided to cancel his sense perception on Kennedy and see if he could still talk to her through thoughts. Although he tried many different things, he didn't seem to be able to do so. He could also see that Kennedy seemed a bit distracted and kind of upset as though she was trying to speak to Laz again but nothing was happening.
