Gao Daiwei's chest was heaving greatly. Looking at the man who had Lin Nuan by the shoulders, she was oddly astounded by the powerful aura exuded by that man and couldn't help but take a second look.
Dressed immaculately in a suit, Fu Huai'an's style was simple yet classy.
The suit accentuated his tall and slender figure perfectly. Coupled with his well-chiseled facial features, even if he didn't speak a word, his mere presence exuded an air of maturity and excellence—that of a man with a successful career.
Without saying or doing anything, his strong presence silently oppressed Gao Daiwei, such that she was unable to speak a word.
Fu Huai'an lowered his gaze and looked at Lin Nuan, positioning her on his right, enquiring in a low voice, ”Are you hurt?”

She wanted very much to calm down her emotions and tell Fu Huai'an no in her usual voice, but she was so emotional that her eyes were already watery, so she could only nod.
Fu Huai'an's large hand held onto Lin Nuan's slender shoulder, and his gaze swept over the two women's watches on the display tray in the sales lady's hands. He recognized them to be a matching pair to the very one he was wearing right now.
He didn't ask about what happened. When he arrived, he heard Lin Nuan mention the wages of the Development Bureau's Director Gao, so he quickly got a sense of what the girl's identity was.
Previously, Fu Huai'an had an investigation done on people around Lin Nuan. He found out about Lin Ran and naturally came to know of her best friend, Gao Daiwei, who was also the eldest daughter of the Development Bureau's Chief.
Fu Huai'an guessed that Lin Nuan probably set her eyes on that watch because it was the other half of the couple's watch she gave to him. He asked Lin Nuan, ”Do you like that watch?”
Before Lin Nuan could reply, they heard a flustered and exasperated Gao Daiwei speak up. ”I want both of these watches!”
Lin Nuan reached out and tugged on Fu Huai'an's arm, not wishing to fight with Gao Daiwei. ”Let's go!”
Gao Daiwei's father was the Development Bureau's Chief, a person that real-estate developers couldn't wait to suck up to as they relied on him to approve their building plans. Kaide Corporation's main business was in real estate, so Lin Nuan didn't want Fu Huai'an to offend the Development Bureau Chief for her sake; this would do no good for his future.
Fu Huai'an nodded but didn't budge. His gaze swept over the watches in the sales lady's hands, and he seemingly smiled. ”Let me see what's so great about this watch, to have people to fight over it…”
The sales lady handed the watches over to Fu Huai'an and smiled. ”This is a limited edition model, and there are only two such pieces in the entirety of Haicheng. It's no wonder the two ladies are so fond of it.”
With the two women's watches in his hand, he took a look and asked Lin Nuan, ”Do you like it?”
”I say, mister! I've already told the sales lady that I'm taking both of these!” Gao Daiwei couldn't help emphasizing.
Lin Nuan's brows furrowed. ”Uhm, I don't like it…”
Fu Huai'an nodded. Then, unexpectedly, he threw the watches in the direction of the fountains in a fluid and dashing movement.
The two watches were thrown out and nicely struck the spot where the statue was standing in the fountain. The watches were smashed apart, and loose parts bounced off the statue.
Lin Nuan widened her eyes.
Fu Huai'an had always been well-composed, so his act of smashing those two watches was something Lin Nuan couldn't anticipate.
The sales lady was nearly frightened to death, mulling over how to stop Lin Nuan and Fu Huai'an from running away from the scene! The watches had yet to be sold, and she certainly couldn't afford to pay for them herself!
”Since you don't like it, the watches shouldn't bother you with their presence.” Fu Huai'an's spoke in a cool voice.
Gao Daiwei stared in shock at the man beside Lin Nuan as he said to Lin Nuan, ”Wallet…”
