Chapter 129 - Wing Chun Center (1/2)
Wang Ming and the group kept bantering with each other while making food, it truly felt like a family breakfast. Since this is their first true breakfast together, Wang Ming made homemade baguettes. He made them following a Vietnamese recipe as their type of baguettes are inspired from the French, as they had once been a French colony. The Vietnamese style baguettes are much bigger than normal baguettes, more airy and softer.
It took him thirty minutes to make the baguettes. He could have bought baguettes from a market nearby, but he wanted to make something special. Taking out the still hot baguettes Wang Ming wanted to let them cool for 10 minutes but seeing Ming Ming's puppy eyes, he started cutting up and preparing the baguettes already after only a few minutes.
Cutting the baguettes open, Wang Ming filled the baguette up with different fillings. He started with a lot of soy sauce, cuc.u.mber, pickled carrots, some duck liver pate, chili, three eggs and many thin slices of roasted pork. The baguette looked perfect, the big and airy baguette just looked so delicious.
”Daddy, let Ming Ming eat, it looks so delicious!”
Wang Ming smiled and gave Ming Ming the first baguette, Fu Ya and Lang Lin wouldn't fight with her for the baguette. They were perfectly happy there, just admiring Wang Ming's half n.a.k.e.d body. They didn't know if Wang Ming did it it on purpose or not, but he would sometimes shake his a.s.s, while also tensing his muscles when he cooked. It felt like he was giving them a stripping show while cooking at the same time.
He hadn't worn a shirt yet as his n.i.p.p.l.e still felt a bit sore, but it felt a lot better already. When he told the women why he didn't wear a shirt they just laughed, Lang Lin almost fell to the floor from all the laughing, Wang Ming had unintentionally told her the best joke of the year.
Fu Ya didn't laugh but just blushed, looking down at the floor. Clearly this had happened to her many times. She flashed Wang Ming an apologetic smile that he brushed off. Even though it felt uncomfortable, Wang Ming didn't mind too much, Ming Ming's his daughter what kind of dad would he be if he couldn't accept his daughter's minor flaws?
Wang Ming hurriedly finished the rest of the baguettes and put them on the kitchen table for everyone to eat. Ming Ming hadn't been able to eat the baguette he gave her, it was just too large in diameter. She tried multiple ways but couldn't bite down on it. Fu Ya took a knife and cut the baguettes into smaller parts for her to eat, as the little girl grew frustrated from not being able to eat the baguette in her hand.
”Mmm Daddy! The bread is so good, you're cooking is so much better than moms. It's the best breakfast ever.”
He laughed, hearing her compliment. Of course it would be better. Fu Ya's a tailor while he's a chef. It would be insane if she made better food than him, like it would have been if he could make better clothes than her. Fu Ya didn't laugh but had an insecure look on her face.
Her cooking skill is something she has always been insecure for, since her mother and women around can all cook. While the only foods she can cook is rice, eggs and instant noodles. She felt like a failure of a woman, but she didn't regret the decision to not learn to cook instead use all her time to perfect her tailoring skills.
