34 Scam (2/2)

Calling Peng Tong, it surprised him to hear that Peng Tong was also calling to find him. It seemed like they both had the same thoughts when calling each other, as they both said at the same time.

”Hey Little Tong let's go out for a drink as a thank you for finding me that restaurant.”

”Big Bro, where are my thanks for finding you that restaurant?

Which made both of them laugh, then Wang Ming said.

”Ok Ok, as the big brother I will pay for drinks. Let's go to the bar we went to the last time. Meet me there in 15 minutes.” The bar Wang Ming and Peng Tong went to last time, was close to Wang Ming's restaurant so it would take him 10 minutes maximum to make his way there.

Peng Tong was shocked hearing that Wang Ming wanted to go for a drink now. The clock was about 4pm. Which normal person would go out and drink at 4pm on a normal day? But since Peng Tong wasn't a normal person, he agreed to meet Wang Ming.

Making his way to the bar, he could see many people walking around. Probably since it was 4pm most people done from their jobs and started to roam the markets or walking home. There shouldn't be that many people at the bars yet, but when he arrived at the bar. There were many people there already. It wasn't overcrowded, but enough people to fill the tables and chairs, there were also already people that was dancing to the music and looked like they were drunk already.

Seeing that Peng Tong wasn't there yet, Wang Ming ordered two drinks for them, which cost him roughly 20 yuan each. While waiting, he suddenly heard a woman scream and a resounding sound of a slap. Looking towards the dance floor he saw a man whose head was wet, and a woman lying on the ground while holding her hand to her face.

At first, Wang Ming didn't want to help her, since he didn't want to make trouble for himself. Looking around, he noticed many people looking at the couple, but no one went out to help. They just laughed and pointed while talking about it.

But then Wang Ming saw the man slowly step towards the woman and readying himself to slap her one more time. He couldn't help himself and went to intervene. He knew that it was a stupid choice, but seeing a defenseless woman being treated like that, it didn't sit right with him.

”Hey Stop what you're doing!”

Then moving towards the dance floor, Wang Ming grabbed the man's hand from hitting the woman. And lightly pushed him away, but it seemed like the man had drunk a little too much. So he stumbled and fell, but since it didn't seem like he got any injuries from it, Wang Ming didn't care and went to help the woman.

”Hey are you ok? What happened why did he slap you?”

Seeing the red mark on her face, Wang Ming couldn't help but curling his fingers into a fist and digging them deep into his hand. He couldn't fathom why someone would treat a woman like this. Seeing that she struggled to get up from the floor, Wang Ming helped her by grabbing both of her arms and pull her up. When she saw that Wang Ming helped her to get up, she smiled not because she was happy but because the prey had taken the bait.

As soon as Wang Ming used his arms to help her up, she screamed even louder this time but said, ”A Pervert! A Pervert!” Then a man came running out with his three underlings while screaming ”Who are you to touch my girlfriend!” He looked like to be the leader and mastermind behind all of this.

The leader then looked at the man lying on the floor and his woman and winked at them, this was the signal to start everything. They were both in on the scam. Their scam was extorting people. They were someone that would extort the weak and would fear the strong. Seeing Wang Ming sitting in a wheelchair, they thought that this would be easy money.

Wang Ming didn't understand why the woman suddenly screamed, but then understood everything when the men came out. He also realized that he was naïve and hated himself for it.
