7 Meng Kitchenware (1/2)
The FengShong market was a much more upscale market than the FanLang market. The market was clean. And even though the market was busy, it wasn't too crowded, probably because the items sold here were more expensive than other markets. The reason why is because of the strict quality control and appraisal, the market takes it's reputation very seriously, so they never sell any items of lousy quality.
Posters hanging at every shop with their policy which is: If a customer, can show that the merchandise is of inferior quality or the merchandise is not as described. The customer can get the merchandise for free. To say that they take their reputation seriously is definitely not an understatement.
Walking into the shop, Wang Ming noted that it was called Meng Kitchenware. It deserved its reputation as the biggest shop in the FengShong market. It looked to have everything a cook, chef, and house would want. That ranges from High-quality knives made from reputable cutlers. To freezer drawers, original wood-fired pizza ovens, stone ovens, food-carts, and more, anything a chef or cook could wish for they had it. Though the prices shocked Wang Ming a knife that usually went for 15-20 yuan, here it cost 50.
Seeing that a female employee was approaching him, he stopped his thoughts. He hoped that he didn't stand out as a total country bumpkin. Even though his father had been rich, he had never taken him to places like this. So Wang Ming was very fascinated by all the items he saw. ”Hello, mister my name is Ming Ming. Is there anything I can help you with?” Pleased by how polite she was, Wang Ming answered.”Hi, miss Ming. Thank you. I need the items on this list please.” On the paper that Wang Ming handed to her, there was: A different assortment of knives like Chef's Knife, Boning Knife, Cleaver, Charcoal grill, fan, a tube made out of wood and of course coal.
He had calculated everything to be around 600 Yuan, but, it seems like the price would probably be closer to 850 yuan, which was still in his price range. He also had to have some money to buy meat and spices which would cost him another 100-200 yuan. Meaning that all in all, he would probably have 200-300 yuan left and about 1000 yuan away to finding a place to stay.
His plan now would be to find a place where he could sell his meat since, after the encounter with the book. He felt enlighted and felt that he had a breakthrough in how to prepare meat. Even though he would go back to sell meat skewers, he was sure that it would be trendy this time and he could easily earn a sum of money.
After standing around a couple of minutes, Ming Ming came back with everything that Wang Ming had asked for which made him relieved, though he expected that a shop of this caliber would have everything.
Taken to the counter, Wang Ming was shocked that the price was 1182 yuan, seems like he had underestimated how much the grill would cost. He would basically be broke if he bought it, but since he already was here, it didn't make sense for him to go somewhere else. Wang Ming felt terrible for her if he didn't buy the items after she gathered all of the things for him. So he took out his whole stack of money, which was a pretty big one since it was a mix of all bills, so he just laid it all on the table and started to count.
Ming Ming felt confused when she saw that Wang Ming took out a big stack of bills. There were many 1's and 5's. Usually, the customers that came to this shop were rich people and would pay by card and not keep a big stack of money like that. But even so, she helped Wang Ming count they money since customer service was essential to the shop. And she was glad that she did because when counting the money she saw a card which said. Meng Hao son of Meng Zhong, Meng Zhong was the owner of this shop. And in training, the first rule of this shop was anybody with the cards Meng Hao, son of Meng Zhong or Meng Zhong father of Meng Hao.
Anybody that had this card would be treated with the utmost respect and was a VIP of the shop. She didn't know why Wang Ming hadn't shown her this card earlier, but she knew that he definitely wasn't a normal person. She had worked in this shop for a few years now, and she had only witnessed three people that had a card. Rich and powerful people sometimes had a weird personality, so she attributed it to maybe Wang Ming wanted to try out how it's to be broke.
Still focusing on counting Wang Ming didn't see Ming Ming's reaction when seeing the card. But then he saw that she had stopped counting. Why did she stop counting? Does she think that my money is fake? ”Miss Ming is there anything wrong with my money. I just got it from the scrapper there shouldn't be any problem.”
Ming Ming got even more confused the scrapper? Would a person with this card be so poor? But she just decided to play along with everything that Wang Ming said. ”No, sorry there was just a weird card here. Is it yours?” Not remembering the card she talked about until he saw her hand and exclaimed, ”Ah! I remember now it's the card I got from a creepy man named Meng Hao, sorry please give it to me.” The reason he didn't tell her to throw it was because of that Meng Hao looked like a rich man even though he took the taxi. So it could be beneficial for Wang Ming to keep it though he didn't know that just because of the card he would reap benefits instantly.
After giving the card back to Wang Ming, Ming Ming then decided to provide him with all of the items for free. She could curry favor from Wang Ming, and even if her manager said something, she could tell him that the man had a VIP card. She pretended to press everything into the cashier box, then spoke. ”Oh, It seems like you are our shops' 10000th patron of the year, so you get all of the items free of charge. The only thing you need to do is to write down your name and telephone number here.
