152 Cursed life III (1/2)
Part 1
Mia listened to the explanation from the north god about how her new body had changed now that she had turned into a champion.
Her body would no longer age as a result of being chosen by the god. She would remain as a twelve-year-old until the end of times or unless she would fall in battle.
Her blessing, which was to be her weapon to face against the demons, was a power that granted her the ability to absorb energy. North explained that she could use it to steal the power from demons and in turn, it would convert the energy into power for herself.
She would be stronger than the mightiest warrior, faster than the most agile animal, and more resistant than the hardest mineral.
There was also the matter of her curse, the only gift she ever received from her hateful mother. She had the power to manipulate beings that operated of feed on cursed energy, such as demons and spirits.
Mia was wondering if she should worry about that, but after North locked away her negative emotions, she realized that it probably wouldn't turn into a major problem.
There was also that matter as well, her locked emotions.
Mia could no longer feel any hatred towards her mother or the rest of her family. All of her anger, all of her sadness, they all just vanished after she finished the ceremony. She assumed that once she was rid of sadness, all that would remain was to feel joy. But instead, Mia wasn't feeling anything.
She was confused as to why that was. She assumed that just because she wasn't angry or sad, didn't automatically mean she was happy too.
She returned to her mansion after the sun showed up and noticed the servants looking at her. They all had worried expressions.
As she returned to her room, Mia passed by a mirror and noticed her face. Completely blank eyes that were staring at nothing and a mouth that showed no emotion at all.
”I should smile more...” she whispered as she used her index fingers to push the corners of her mouth up.
After trying to make a forced smile, she continued her path and saw her sister's room had a door open. She rushed towards it to share the good news and saw Ria crying while hugging her pillow on top of her bed.
”Why me?? Why me?? Why?? Why?” said her sister repeatedly.
”Big sis...? What's wrong?” Mia asked while she slowly entered the room.
”Mia!?” her sister asked while trying to hide her tears, ”What re you doing here?? Dad will be mad at you again!!”
”Don't worry about that! I took care of it!!”
”What...?”
”Tell me what's wrong...” Mia asked while holding Ria's hand.
”...” Mia kept staring at her sister. She assumed she would have reacted with more repulse, but she simply kept holding her blank stare. She wasn't sad or angry, but she wasn't happy either.
”Mia...?” her sister asked, now looking rather worried.
”Don't worry big sis! I'll handle it!” Mia said, trying to force a smile.
The girl with a ponytail moved out of the room while her older sister watched in confusion.
”Handle it...??” Ria whispered, unsure of what her sister meant.
Mia kept walking towards her father's room. She was wondering why she wasn't feeling happy. She could no longer feel anything that could hurt her, but she still wasn't feeling anything that would bring her joy yet. She assumed things would change if she went forward with her plan and saved her sister from her father.
The girl barged into the room after making the doors fly all over the place and crashing against the wall. Inside, she spotted her father, her aunt Tula, and her brother Kio. It seemed like they were in the middle of a discussion.
”Mi- Mia?? What's the meaning of this??” her father asked while gazing at the door she just knocked out.
Mia looked at him with her usual blank expression. She wasn't angry with him anymore, which shocked her.
”Dad, I want you to cancel Ria's marriage and allow me to play with her again...” Mia asked with a cold tone.
”What?? What kind of nonsense are you spouting?? Explain how you knocked that door this instant!!”
Her dad was speaking with a raised tone, but Mia wasn't afraid of him anymore. Her body wasn't shaking like last time, it was completely immobile. But she was feeling something after all. It was faint, but she could see that her father was a little scared of her, and that was enough to make her feel something, a small glimpse of joy.
She started to move towards the man and made her demand once again, ”Dad... Cancel Ria's marriage and let me play with her again...”
”This child has gone mad!! Dear!! You need to do something about her!!” yelled her aunt Tula, holding her son as if she was protecting him from her.
Just like before, Mia wasn't angry or annoyed at her.
”Mia!! I told you to explain yourself!! Stop disobeying me!!” her father screamed.
Mia still didn't felt anything. She was starting to worry she might be forgetting how to feel and decided to scare her dad a bit more to see if more joy would come out.
The girl then grabbed their bed and threw it out of the window with one hand using the power of the cursed energy her blessing absorbed to boost her strength.
Both her father and her aunt looked at her terrified, which made Mia smile a bit more. She finally was feeling something again. Their terror was bringing her emotions back.
”S- Stop!! Don't come any closer!! I'm your father!!” the man said while trembling and cowering against the wall.
”Are you...? Just a while ago you said I was just an accident you wish had never happened... Is that the kind of thing a father would say?” Mia said while approaching him with a huge smile at the sight of his desperate face.
”That- That- That was just a bad use of words... I was just a little out of my mind... Please calm down!”
”Calm down...? I'm pretty sure I'm the calmest one in here right now...” Mia was now inches away from his father and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt.
”Mi- Mia... Let me go... Please...”
Mia considered his request, but she could feel that if she did so, her joy would end. She wanted to feel more joy, scare him more.
She then looked at her aunt Tula and threw her father at her like he was a bag of trash.
The two fell down on the floor and stared at Mia who was just looking at them with a creepy smile stamped on her face.
”This is fun...” She commented.
Part 2
Ria was in her room trying to contain her tears when she suddenly heard someone knocking on her door.
She moved to open it and saw that one of her father's servants was standing there blankly looking at her, which made Ria feel very uncomfortable.
”Hilda...? What's wrong...?” Ria asked.
”Your sister requests your presence...” answered the maid.
”My sister...?”
Hilda pulled Ria by the hand and brought her to the living room where her entire family was reunited and standing still with blank stares on their faces. Her siblings, her father, her mother, some of her father's wives, they all were gazing at nothing and playing the world's most boring game 'Simon says not to move'.
”What is going on...?” Ria asked.
”Ah!! Big sis!! You're here!! Thanks, Hilda!” Mia said as she entered the room carrying a plate full of candy.
”Mia...?”
”Look!! Look!! I solved everything!! Watch!!” Mia clapped her hands and her father gave a few steps forward to now stand in the middle of the room.
”Ria... You no longer have to marry anyone... You no longer have to do any work... And you can play with your sister as much as you want...” he said with the most dead tone possible.
”What...??” Ria just seemed lost and a little scared. Her father was acting like a zombie.
