140 The perfect team (1/2)

Ellie was rushing through a hallway towards the hotel room that her aunt had booked while carrying a huge box with her.

”Detra!!!” she screamed to call the attention of Evlin's housemaid, ”Detra, are you here??”

She entered the room and saw Detra laying on the bed holding Ellie's phone that was at this moment playing a top hits of the year series playlist of music tracks. Detra was looking at it with wide eyes and staring at the object as if it was some kind of holy grail.

”... Detra...?” Ellie asked while wondering if the woman had been watching videos this whole time while everyone was being attacked.

”What is wrong with the people of this world...???” said Detra after being exposed to more than three hours of earth's currently most popular music videos, ”Is this what is considered normal around here...???”

”Oh... We kinda got rid of the concept of 'normal' a while ago... Being weird is the new normal...” Ellie explained.

”... What...?” Detra didn't seem to get the explanation.

”Never mind that now!!” Ellie hurried and shoved the box on the woman's face, ”I need you to take care of him while I'm gone!!”

Detra analyzed what was in front of her and tried to process her answer, she saw a very angry-looking man imprisoned on a transparent cube made with blessed metal glaring at her, ”Is that... Xadi...??? Why do you have the spirit of Xadi stuck in a box??”

”Mia tried to send him to attack us but me and Daren managed to stop him.”

”I see...” Detra said while trying to remember which one was Daren from Evlin's team, ”And you want me to do what exactly...? Keep an eye on him?”

”Not him, Lance!” Ellie explained, ”I need you to take care of Lance!”

Detra then looked up and finally realized that there was a small kid sucking his own thumb and gazing at her.

”... Me?? Why me?? Where is the rest of your aunt's friends?”

”This guy turned into a weird monster made of wood and zapped all of them to a hospital bed. You're the only option I have left!” Ellie explained while pointing at Xadi and putting his box down.

She then grabbed Lance and handed him over to Detra, who looked very confused about what she was supposed to do with him.

”What about you?? Why can't you take care of him?” Detra asked.

Ellie then started to examine around the room as if she was looking for some kind of hidden treasure, ”I can't right now. Xadi is going to reveal to me where Mia is. I'm going after her and rescue my parents!”

”Oh... I se- WAIT WHAT!!!??” Detra said while jumping out of her bed with Lance on her arms, ”You're going after Mia alone??”

Ellie continued to search the room but acting like she was having no luck with her quest. She then stood in the middle of the place and scratched her head as if trying to remember something important, ”I have no choice. You told us that Mia will be leaving for England soon right? But if we just defeat her now we can just stop this whole thing right now!”

”Young lady there is no way you can defeat Mia on your own!! We need your aunt!” Detra said while she watched Ellie running from one side of the room to another.

”My aunt can't help right now! Some guys who were claiming to be the new followers of the east or something showed up and began to attack her. I'm all that's left.” Ellie said as she snuck under the bed.

”Wait... New followers of the East?? I was replaced??” Detra said while Lance started to show a tired expression as if he wanted to sleep.

”Aha!! Found it!!” Ellie declared as she pulled some kind of fur doll that looked like a frog with a bowtie and a top hat. She then rushed towards Xadi and placed the toy in front of him, ”Here!!”

Xadi just stared as the girl kept holding the toy in front of him as if it was some kind of birthday present for him to open.

”... What...?” He said while staring at the toy that was about as big as half of Ellie's leg.

”I want you to possess it!” said the girl while giving the ghost mage a wide grin.

”... ... ... Excuse me...?”

”Come on!! I don't wanna have to carry your box around the whole city with me! Just enter this toy and make yourself easier to carry!”

”Have you lost your mind!!!???”

”Well, it's not like I can just let you free right? Who knows how much danger you can do if you get out of this box.” Ellie said while holding the toy in front of his face.

Xadi wanted to throw a thousand lighting bolts on Ellie on that moment, but for his plan to work, he needed to cooperate with her, or she would stop listening to him, so he decided to simply endure this small humiliation for now.

”... ... ... I hate you...” Xadi said while glaring at Ellie.

”Don't worry... I'll let you go once we beat Mia!” Ellie said while using her power to make a small hole on the box and shoving the fur frog inside.
