Chapter 60 (1/2)
The two Supreme Gargoyles had 500,000 Health Points each. Although they were the weakest among Level 50 Leader monsters simply based on Health Points alone, they had a special Skill, Petrification.
Petrification: In this state, one is granted 95% immunity to any damage. One’s Health Points will be restored at a maximum rate of 1% per second. After sustaining a strong attack, this state will be lifted. One can re-enter this state five minutes after exiting it.
The 95% immunity to any damage meant that even Trinity’s flaming arrow would only cause a few thousand points of damage. A maximum of 5,000 Health Points could be restored per second at the maximum restoration rate.
In other words, as long as the two Gargoyles entered the Petrification state, nothing could stop them from restoring their Health Points unless a group of people attacked them at once.
Although the Petrification state would be broken as long as one suffered a certain amount of damage, they would probably be filled with disgust if those who did not have high enough damage output began fighting with them.
Even Liu Ming couldn’t help but frown when he saw the two Boss-level monsters that looked like a sham.
At this moment, changes occurred to the two Supreme Gargoyles’ skin. The Supreme Gargoyles immediately got out of their Petrification state and turned into two gigantic demons that soared to the sky in just mere moments.
Immediately afterward, the two Supreme Gargoyles opened their large and hideous mouths at the same time, spitting out numerous energy bombs at Liu Ming and Trinity.
Upon seeing the Gargoyles attacking, Trinity warned Liu Ming to be careful before drawing her bow and shooting a flaming arrow at the Gargoyle on the right.
After taking note of the situation, Liu Ming glanced at the Gargoyle on the left. He then raised his sword and slashed at the Door of Darkness without hesitation.
What a joke. Liu Ming currently only had two long-range attacking Skills in total. Their effects also weren’t great for dealing with targets in the air.
If the two Supreme Gargoyles were to come down, Liu Ming would still be able to defeat them. However, they were now in midair, and Liu Ming really could not hit them for a while.
Instead of standing there foolishly and wasting time, Liu Ming might as well demolish the Door of Darkness and complete the quest earlier.
After all, Trinity and Liu Ming were in the Darkness Camp’s base camp. They did not have time to attack and kill the two existences that seemed like shams.
Although the Supreme Gargoyles could only be considered alchemical lifeforms, they were just as intelligent as high-level NPCs. Thus, upon discovering that Liu Ming had ignored it, the Supreme Gargoyle on the left immediately rushed forward and attacked Liu Ming vigorously and hysterically.
Upon seeing this, Liu Ming immediately dodged the attack, causing the Supreme Gargoyle to collide with the white bone platform, and a huge hole formed in the platform.
Although the white bone platform was not created using the bones of Wyrms or Titans, it was definitely much harder than ordinary steel since it could be used as the Door of Darkness’s formation and had also been strengthened by a Dark spell.
The fact that the Supreme Gargoyle was able to cause such damage to the white bone platform showed how strong the collision impact was.
If it were an ordinary monster, it would definitely freeze for a few seconds, even if it did not get struck by such a strong collision.
After knocking into the white bone platform, the Supreme Gargoyle immediately got back on its feet, turned around with flexibility and speed that didn’t fit its massive size, and spat out a few energy bombs at Liu Ming.
The attack was highly defensive yet flexible and nimble. All of a sudden, Liu Ming could not find a chance to strike the Supreme Gargoyle.
However, the Supreme Gargoyle’s long-range attacking ability was, fortunately, terrible. Hence, it similarly could not do anything to Liu Ming.
