Chapter 46 (2/2)
Lotter City and the 20 main cities around it belonged to the Eric Kingdom, one of the kingdoms most heavily infiltrated by the dark forces among the many kingdoms and empires.
In other words, the news reported by Lotter City’s City Lord would not only be taken lightly by the kingdom’s higher-ups, but the City Lord might even get reprimanded by them.
If that was all, it would be fine.
This time’s update had also opened up the eligibility to switch to the Darkness Camp. As long as a player could find the person in charge of one of the Darkness Camp’s regions and complete a Camp Quest, they would be able to change their respective affiliation to the Darkness Camp.
The two pieces of information caused many players, who were not doing well in the Brilliance Camp, to join the Darkness Camp immediately after the game service was made available again.
Even the senior executives of guilds like World Guild had also openly stated that their guilds would choose to switch camps when the time came.
Hence, the Brilliance Camp completely lost their advantage, and the game plot’s subsequent development became unknown.
However, what bothered Liu Ming the most was not the matter of which camp had the greater advantage, but the new systems that were released together with God Domain’s update.
This time, brand new equipment, refinement systems, and demon possession systems were included in the update.
The equipment refinement system was traditional games’ strengthening system. All equipment above Level 10 could be refined with Equipment Refinement Stones.
There were a total of 20 levels of equipment refinement. Other than the first refinement, which would definitely be successful, the subsequent refinements would have certain chances of failure.
Every failure in refinement would cause the equipment’s Refinement Level to drop by one. After Refinement Level 11, each failure would result in a straight plunge to Refinement Level 0.
Each Equipment Refinement Stone cost one Gold Coin, and subsequently, the number of required Equipment Refinement Stones would increase almost geometrically with every increase in Refinement Level.
The fact that one would have to start all over again after a failure at Refinement Level 11 and above was enough to show how profitable the Equipment Refinement System was for the officials.
However, compared to the Equipment Refinement System, the Enchanting Resonance System was the one that would truly cost a lot of money.
The materials used in the Enchanting Resonance System were Stats Badges, which were extremely valuable.
Once the Enchanting Resonance System was activated, players would be able to add their Stats Badges to their equipment and form Enchantments using three to seven badges.
If six pieces of equipment belonging to a player, including weapons, were attached to corresponding Enchantments, resonance would occur. Additional Stats, as well as features, would also appear.
The Enchanting Resonance System per se was not a big problem except for the high consumption of badges. After all, if one knew which order the badges were to be combined, they could obtain their desired Enchantment in one go.
However, the resonance following it would suck many players dry.
Once six pieces of equipment resonated with one another, they could never be altered again unless there was another Enchantment, regardless of how terrible the Stats were.
In other words, one would have to waste another sum of money if the set of Enchanted equipment, which they had obtained after spending a bomb, ended up going wrong.
Those unlucky probably would not be able to get their desired resonance in less than eight to ten attempts. Hence, even many of the various guilds’ elite players claimed that they would just look to get an acceptable Enchantment after the update.
Ordinary players might not like such things that involved probability, but Liu Ming enjoyed it very much.
If not for the fact that Liu Ming had not collected his quest rewards yet, he would have gone to the Blacksmith and Enchanter to test out both systems immediately.
