Chapter 11 (2/2)
[Congratulations, Adventurer, you have obtained Sword of Raging Corpse Demon (Purple)]
[Congratulations, Adventurer, you have obtained Bloodthirsty Badge (Purple)]
“Perfect!” Although he had seen several big drops in one day, Liu Ming was still beaming with joy when he saw the system messages.
Liu Ming could not be bothered to look at the Green equipment since he was going to sell them for money anyway.
The newly-obtained Blue equipment—Corpse King Set—happened to be Level 10. It had Stats that were about 20% higher than Liu Ming’s current Blue gear.
Of course, what really made Liu Ming happy were the newly-obtained Sword of Raging Corpse Demon and Purple Badge.
Sword of Raging Corpse Demon (Purple)
Level: 10
Attacking Power: 212
Durability: 500/500
Additional: Critical Hit +10%
Additional Skill: Soul-Breaking Sword (Purple)
Soul-Breaking Sword (Purple): Condenses a giant energy sword that will exert damage with 200% Attacking Power on the enemies within its range. Cooldown time: 1 minute. Has a probability of inflicting chaos effect to the opponent.
…
Bloodthirsty Badge: (Purple)
Inlay Area: Arms
Effect: Attack Leech +8%
…
Not only did the Sword of Raging Corpse Demon have nearly 80 more Attacking Power than the Level 5 Berserking Hound King Sword that Liu Ming had, but its Critical Hit boost was also greater by 5%.
Besides, the additional Skill—Soul-Breaking Sword—happened to make up for Liu Ming’s lack of an area-of-effect Skill. When killing monsters, he still had to slash them one by one.
Soul-Breaking Sword came with chaos-inducing effects, which was not inferior to the vertigo-inducing effect.
As for the Bloodthirsty Badge, it was something that could only be used after a player entered the main city at Level 10 and activated the Badge System. Badges could be inlaid on all sorts of equipment to provide additional Stats.
However, only Boss-level monsters above Level 10 had a chance of dropping badges. There were also huge differences between badges of different qualities.
Take the Bloodthirsty Badge that Liu Ming now had as an example. A White Bloodthirsty Badge only came with an additional 2% Leech effect, while its Purple counterpart came with a +8% Leech effect, which was four times as much as the White one.
However, although this item was rare, Liu Ming was still planning to make the most out of it. He planned to inlay it in his Sword of Raging Corpse Demon after entering the main city. After all, no matter how good it was, it would not be of any value if he did not use it.
Besides, he had his Blessing Of Lady Luck talent. While this was an item coveted by elite players during the game’s beginner and intermediate stages, it was just a little rare to Liu Ming.
After clearing up the drops from the Fusion Corpse Demon, Liu Ming finally turned to look at the Sanguine Crystal in his system backpack.
Sanguine Crystal (Purple): A magic stone created from hundreds of thousands of humans’ souls, flesh, and blood that the Doomsday Priory consumed. It is only a step away from becoming the legendary Sage Stone.
Take this stone to Village Chief Carlos to complete the mission of ‘Investigating the East Region’s Mining Cave.’
Clearly, if it weren’t for Liu Ming’s quick reaction and him interrupting the Doomsday Devotees’ ritual during the critical moment, the Sanguine Crystal might cause greater trouble.
Liu Ming looked away and casually killed a newly-spawned Phantom Spider with his sword before walking towards the mining cave’s exit.
…
Tens of minutes later, Liu Ming finally returned to the novice village.
At this time, the novice village was much livelier than it was when Liu Ming left.
After a few hours of leveling up, some of the first tier players had already reached Level 3.
Many players who did not obtain any equipment would choose to purchase some system-released standard White equipment from the NPCs. Although the standard White equipment did not have the Stats of a set, it was still better than the novice equipment.
Hence, there were now snake-like queues in front of the defense equipment and arms shops.
When heading to the village chief’s home from the village entrance, he would have to pass by those two places.
All of a sudden, Liu Ming—who was wearing formidable knight armor—looked particularly eye-catching in the crowd.
