Chapter 276 - The One Who Fixed Me (1/2)

Port Queen.

Davi, who just arrived at the camp was welcomed by both soldiers and scientists. She was wondering why, but the moment she saw the commander with her mother beside him, she finally understood what was going on.

They congratulated her because the research and inventions she created a year ago were huge breakthroughs that gained both national and international awards. She was even told that the office of the president invited her to attend the upcoming national honorary awards.

After the congratulatory event, she was summoned by Commander Yun along with her mother. This military commander was actually her father's half-brother and the man who hid Davi's mother 15 years ago. After the accident, Miura Sanae sought his help and the man paved the path to enable her to enter the secret special forces and holed up her under the ocean for ten years. Then Davi followed suit.

”You were away for a year so you may not have heard the news yet.” He said as her mother smiled ever so happily.

”Is this about father? I already heard it.” She replied and the two were shocked.

”Ohh… We thought we could surprise you. But yes, you are free now. Both of you are finally free.” Commander Yun said and Miura Sanae embraced her daughter.

”Sweetie, after so many years we are finally free. And your father is now seen as a hero.” She cried and Davi embraced her back quietly.

”Your research is an amazing breakthrough. Even the general and the president were in awe. They couldn't believe that a talented asset was hiding beneath my wings all these years. We can now finally introduce you, the genius and national treasure to the world.” Commander Yun professed, looking like a super proud father before someone summoned him.

The two then went back to their respective quarters. Davi went straight to bed after showering. She raised her hand and clenched her fist, she stared at the ceiling for a long time. Her thoughts were filled with Sei's face and her son's. Her heart was aching and she wanted to go back to that house right away.

Being a special forces medic, Davi studied psychology as well. She constantly monitored herself to know herself better so she could understand what was happening to her. She had become used to dodging and concealing her emotions for too long that she ended up being incapable of expressing them anymore.

Inwardly, she wished for Sei to never know that she had become like this, that was why she left without a word. She had no idea how to face him now that she couldn't even smile anymore. Everything was finally over, and for her, everything seemed like a dream. She didn't even know how she managed to just leave that house without saying anything. She felt like she had lost herself. She wasn't the girl she used to be and she didn't want Sei to realize that.

She knew that healing this type of psychological illness would take time but she desperately wanted herself to be fixed right now so she can properly face them and be with them. She didn't want to show herself as something similar to a robot, incapable of expressing any emotion in front of her dearest son and husband. She didn't want her son to see her in this sorry state.
