186 So you dont know everything? (1/2)
”Fine, we will talk more about this once you have rested enough. For now, I will leave you to bond with your cute little son, hehehehe,” said Lyra while forcefully putting the wox cub in Linri's arms.
”Mom, wait! You still haven't told me to-”
*Smack*
Lyra closed the door behind her without waiting for Linri to finish. At least, for now, he needed to get used to his new appendages. Anyway, considering Lyra could hide hers easily, there was definitely a way to do so.
As he was thinking, Linri looked at the cute little wox cub in his arms. It was also looking at him with watery eyes, its tails wagging like that of a dog's. It was disturbing, since they were fluffy they were actually tickling his stomach.
”You! Stop that!” said Linri while holding the little cub with one hand. It was no bigger than his fist and looking at him with confused eyes.
”Dada!” Linri heard the same baby-like voice in his mind.
”Stop calling me that! If you are going to call me something, at least call me Master,” said Linri with a serious tone.
”Dada!” said the little wox cub again, infuriating him.
Wait, maybe he was thinking about this the wrong way. He was not shackled by this little thing and he was clearly not going crazy just yet. If he can train him good, maybe he can make him battle like a pokemon?
No, he was thinking too small, this was a unique beast in the world, unlike any other. It was impossible for a fox and a wolf to crossbreed because of the difference in their chromosome numbers, so, if he sold it, he could probably get a lot of money for it.
No, he was still thinking too small! Getting rid of this thing just for money was not enough! Maybe he can cut a deal with a mage and get some equipment imbued with magic and get stronger that way.
The little wox cub was biting its owner's thumb without knowing how he was trying to sell it for benefits. Honestly, it probably wouldn't even understand it if Linri tried to cook it. From its perspective, Linri was its parent, so it would always trust him unconditionally. He had basically gained an ally that would never betray him and Linri was aware of that. However, to him, the wox cub was just too much of a bad sign that he intentionally decided to ignore that fact. Every time he looked at this thing, he would question whether or not he was going insane. Ugh, too troublesome to think about it. Let's just let the future Linri handle this thing.
He tried to ignore the wox cub and go to sleep, but the mischievous little critter didn't let him. He was about to throw it towards the door again when his mom opened his door which made him stop promptly. Lyra was holding a tray of soup she had cooked just for him.
”How is it? Are you feeling better now?”
”Yes,” said Linri miserably. He knew this was coming, but couldn't stop it. You see, in the original timeline, wox had a quirk. It liked sitting on Linri's head. Max had found it cute so, whenever it was in Linri's vicinity, it would always sit on his head. It was also the same for this version of the wox and, since his mother was here, it couldn't just throw it.
”Good, good. I was honestly worried since you slept for two weeks straight,” said Lyra offhandedly.
Linri spat out the soup he was drinking.
”What!? Two weeks?! Why didn't you tell me about this before?!”
He had lost too much valuable time. This was a time he could have used to get on the good books of others or straight-up con them. That also meant there were only two weeks left before The False God event starts. That was bad. Now that he thought about it, he had evolved ahead of time, meaning he lost his chance to one-shot Leon with [Fire Manipulation].
FUCK!!!!!
