165 The Trade (1/2)
The next round didn't have many complications. Some people decided to cooperate in the hopes of plundering antidotes like Linri or Rina while the others picked betray again. As a result, there were only 4 people left standing.
Honestly, the scene of the others dying left a bad taste in his mouth. No, Linri did not care about the fact that they died. It was just that it looked so horrifying. First black veins started to spread from their neck to their whole body. Then, they started to scream in pain. Afterwards, their eyes turned white and they started to foam from their mouths and then silence. Even their bodies weren't left alone since a hole opened beneath their balconies which they fell into.
Linri, Rina, Ryan and lastly Yui, these were the only people left. Yui was the one Linri was most curious about. Throughout this whole thing, he did not remember her speaking once. She had crystal blue hair and yellow eyes. Her skin was as flawless as jade and bla bla. She was hot nuff said!
”Okay, now that the waste is gone how about we deal with how we are going to break our little deadlock?” Linri asked playfully.
Currently, he only had 10 antidotes left while Rina only had 9. As for Ryan and Yui, they only had a single one left so they were bound to die eventually.
”How can you still think about that after seeing that!?” Rina asked with tearful eyes. No, she was not crying after classmates, at least Linri thought that was not why. She was holding her stomach and mouth so most likely she was trying to hold back her vomit.
”Why not? Dead is dead. You can't bring them back to life so why waste time mourning after them?” Linri said nonchalantly.
At that point, Rina finally noticed the indifference in Linri's eyes. Unlike what she thought, he wasn't sent by the clan elders, nor was he a crazy murderer. He honestly did not care for their lives. You could not fake that impression. Then why was he here? Someone like him shouldn't care if the people in the school survived or not. Then what was the driving point in him attending this event? Was he just trying to ensure he wouldn't die? Then why not hide? Someone was bound to stop the attacker eventually. His participation in the game did not make sense!
”Hello! You here!? Earth to Rina!”
”Huh?”
”Finally, I was asking you about your next move”
”Oh, right” Rina stopped thinking about Linri's motives. They were still in a dangerous situation and if she slipped up there was no telling if Linri wouldn't take advantage of the situation to murder her.
”Shouldn't we just pick cooperate and win?”
”Tch, turns out you are only worth this much. What if these two idiots decide to betray and plunder our antidotes? They are on their death bed and there is no way that they would cooperate. Don't tell me seeing their deaths have shaken you this much. So weak! And you even had thought about being the clan leader. Huh! Such a joke!” Linri said sarcastically.
”What then? Are you going to let us die?” Ryan screamed in anger. He had sacrificed so much just to get here. Autumn fall was supposed to be his safe haven. He couldn't let it be destroyed. Most importantly he didn't want to die. Was he really going to die just like this? If he tried to betray they would just betray alongside him. If he tried to be the sole cooperator there was no guarantee that the blue-haired girl wouldn't do the same.
”There is one way you can live but I don't know if Rina would agree to that so I can't say” Linri shook his head in defeat like he was really pained that he couldn't save them.
”What is it?” Rina asked while clenching the guard rails in front of her. She really didn't want to see anyone else die if possible.
”Simple, why don't you share your antidotes with them? If you give 1 to each of them they would have the incentive to cooperate” Linri said with a sly smile.
”Wait you could do that?” Ryan asked in surprise.
”Why not? There wasn't anything in the rules forbidding trades. If not we can ask the game master” said Linri while looking towards the roof. There was a security camera in there, otherwise, how would Snow enjoy this show? She had to be watching it closely.
At that moment a new notification appeared on their tablets.
[New function available. Players now have the ability to transfer their antidotes through the trade tab]
”See? The only thing you had to do was ask and thy lord shall provide. So what's it gonna be? Are you going to share your antidotes or are you going to watch them die?” said Linri mockingly.
”You can spare only a single antidote, right? If you do I will be your slave for life! Please don't let me die” Ryan begged for his life.
Rina bit her lip so hard that blood started to flow through the corner of her mouth. This wasn't an easy decision. If she decides to give her antidotes to the two of them, nothing was stopping Linri from betraying and killing them nonetheless. If he did that she would fall into a precarious situation. Linri could force her to die by keeping betraying each round and she would die.
”Fine!” then Rina sent a single antidote each of them.
”Thank you,” said Yui with a melodic voice.
