123 Tarot Reading (1/2)

”Well, guys this is Linri. I am sure you saw him at the ceremony today” said Riku while awkwardly trying to introduce him to others.

”Hi, I am Marius. So how did you know about the attack?” Marius was the straight forward type. The reason for that was he was part reptilian. He could turn on and off his emotions with just a thought so he made the perfect soldier. Still, that didn't mean that he was a super-soldier program victim like Kris or Hayato. He was actually part of the Reptilian people living under New York. Yeah, they were a thing in this universe. He was sure that Old Man James would love to meet with him.

”I have my sources” Linri replied casually. He was tired of saying he was an info broker all the time so he opted for a different option this time.

”Then why did you come, if you knew that we were gonna be attacked? Isn't that dumb?” Wow! He really did not hold back with his words, did he?

”I had something I wanted to confirm and I did. So it was worth it if you ask me”

”Hey, before you came in Natsumi was doing fortune-telling. Do you want to try? She has been pretty accurate so far” Riku tried to change the topic of the conversation. Linri did not know if he was being considerate about him or just uncomfortable about the situation.

”Yeah, sure why not?” Linri tried to downplay it but he was extremely excited. If she could glimpse into the future it might help him a lot. Tarot cards were different from a prophecy. You could only read the cards and make guesses about their meanings but Linri knew what was going to happen in the future. So if she could explain to him what each card meant he could see what they referenced.

”Okay, then come here. Sit in front of me” said Natsumi while tapping the floor in front of her. She seemed way more excited then he was.

”So what do I do?” He asked doubtfully while sitting cross-legged.

”First I am going to shuffle the cards till you ask me to stop. Then you are going to pick six cards and I will tell you about yourself and your life. I would tell you about your future in more detail but somebody told me it would be inappropriate” she said while glancing at her brother who was sitting next to her.

”You know full well that we shouldn't look at other people's future willy nilly. How would our ancestors think of us if they knew what you were doing?” Akira seemed like he was the serious one in their sibling dynamic. I guess that made sense. He was balancing the childishness of Natsumi. Also if Linri was not wrong he was going to be the next head of Fujisaki Clan so he might have been raised to be strict like this.

”Fine geez. I am just reading his personality okay? Anyway since I am just going to make a personality reading we are only going to use the Major Arcana cards. They are the most important cards and represent a person's inner world” explained Natsumi while picking out 22 cards from her deck and started to shuffle. She was so proficient that Linri thought she was a street magician.

Once Linri said stop she slowly laid down the cards, in front of her and gestured Linri to pick them. He picked six cards and slowly turned them around one by one.

The first card had a blindfolded lady. She was holding a sword in one hand and a scale in the other.
