76 Just Who Did I Offend? (1/2)

Linri was trying to keep himself awake. He had not slept for the whole night so he knew that he was probably not thinking rationally. It was alright there was no guarantee that he could affect the world just by writing on paper. Still he needed to make that the stuff he wrote was not the reality, however, he did not know how to check something like that.

Thinking about it what he did was extremely dumb. He knew that he could not just go up and ask his mother since it was not the time yet and he was trying to keep everything as similar to the game as possible. After all, everything concerning Lyra concerned Linri's life in a literal sense. His current situation was akin to falling down a cliff, either everything goes the same and he survives or he splashes on to the ground and dies.

Looking at the story in front of him Linri still could not keep his urges. He wanted to know No, he NEEDED to know. Then how was he going to go around and ask Lyra? He kept coming back to this question and he knew the answer he cannot ask Lyra. Then again he wanted to know if it was true. Was there really no way to solve this conundrum?

Linri checked the time, it was almost time for breakfast. He got up from his chair and took a shower. By the time he dried his hair, it was already time for breakfast.

While sitting at the table Linri was eating his toast with marmite on top and looking at Lyra intensely. Of course, being the attending person she was Lyra caught up on it. Actually, there was nothing to pick up as Linri was so into his thoughts that he did not even hide the fact that he was looking at her, any random person could arrive that conclusion.

”What?” Lyra eventually asked Linri. Of course, hearing his name Linri finally pried himself away from his thoughts and arrived at the reality.

”Hm?” Linri looked like confused as he really was confused and this was no acting.

”She is asking why you were looking at her so intensely. Don't tell me you have awakened to being a mothercon and fell in love with her?” Upon Jaime's last remark the table came to an abrupt silence. Arkady was looking like he could not comprehend the question while Lyra seemed like she could not believe what she heard. Linri, however, looked at Jaime with disdain.

”Don't even joke about it. You almost made me throw up. By the way, it seems like you became too comfortable living here, might I kindly remind you that you are a guest here and can be kicked out at any moment?” Linri did not back down and threatened Jaime with kicking her out and this only made her laugh.

”Haha, we both know that your heart is too soft and you can not bear to throw me out.” Then she winked at him suggestively.

”Linri dear don't change the subject. Is there something you want to tell me?” Seeing that it was all a joke Lyra breathed a sigh of relief. She knew that there were some messed up families where the son was in love with his mother. Being the beautiful and confident woman she was for a split second there she had assumed the worst. After all, teenagers tended to be unpredictable and they were just awakening into their sexuality. It wouldn't be strange that they might confuse their familial love with the other kind. All in all, she was happy that she did not have to have some kind of awkward conversation with her son.
