11 Episode 11- Sand Kingdom (2/2)
Kat smiles as she waves back at him. After he disappears she sighs. ”Now” She stands up and looks up at the castle. ”back to work” She walks up the stairs.
When Kat enters the throne room, her mind was in awe. The inside was of course sand. A long red carpet lead to the throne. Kat swallowed hard as she made eye contacted with the king. He sat at his throne. He was a chubby fella and he was also bald. His crown sat somewhat crooked. Kat smiles a little.
As she approached she bowed. ”King Gamal”
Gamal laughed as he stood. He held his stomach while he laughed. ”Queen Katrina. Call me Gamal” He hugged her.
Kat hugged back. ”It's good to know that you aren't such a enemy of me”
”Well that's just us. We aren't much of a fighting kingdom”
Kat looked over to see Queen Abrielle. Her body was much slimmer than her husbands. Even after having twelve children.”I'm happy you all are good.” She fake smiled at them.
Abrielle looked at Kat with a kind smile. ”Yes. We do as much as we can to not be in wars!” She laughs as she holds Gamal. ”I'm not a fan of blood”
Gamal smiles. ”Yes. Neither am I!” He laughs as he walks back to his throne.
Abrielle does the same.
Kat swallows before speaking. ”Gamal, I must know why you called me.”
Gamal sighs. ”Kat...” He looks at his wife than back at her. ”You know that my twelve sons all are lords to the other sand kingdoms, right?”
Kat nods.
”Well...” He begins to say but chokes on his words.
”What my husband is trying to say is...” Abrielle stands. ”One of our sons have decided to rebel. He has gone mad with power.” She wipes a tear off before it ruins her makeup. ”Our youngest son, Adeben, has become mad. He has killed his dear wife and children. He is trying to make his attack on the rest of the kingdoms.”
”How does this have to do with me?” Kat asks confused.
”Well, when we investigated his castle.” Abrielle stops for a moment before continuing. ”Wolfhound was his third kingdom to take over”
Kat freezes. ”I see..”
”Now that you do. Please...” Abrielle walks up to Kat. She holds her hands. ”Mother to mother...” She begins to cry. ”go easy on my boy...”
Kat sighs and hugs her. ”I promise he will not be harmed.”
”Thank you.” Gamal smiles gratefully at her.
After talking to the king and queen, Kat gets back on her horse. She rubs her head as she thinks. ”Why must he come after Wolfhound...” She takes a deep breath. ”No need to feel this way. I must get back to camp and report in.” She begins to ride through the village when she notices Logan in a corner.
Two men stood in front of him. Both men looked dirty and also had torn clothes like Logan.
”Come on kid! Give us the sweets!” One of the men says as he tries to reach for the sweet rolls.
”Yeah! Come on kid! Give it up or-”
”Or what?” Kat stands behind them with her sword drawn. ”Hmm?” She stares at them.
Both men look terrified.
”Listen miss..we were just messing with the boy” One of the men say as he smiles big.
”Leave!” She demands as she swings her blade.
They both scream as they run away.
Kat laughs as she watches them. But she stops when she hears sobbing. She looks over at Logan. She sees him crying. ”Hey..” She drops her sword and holds him. ”It's okay...” She rubs his head.
He doesn't say anything back but cry.
”They will not hurt you ever again.” She pulls away to see his face. She wipes his tears away and gives him a warm smile. ”Hey I promise.”
Logan smiles a little. ”Thank you...” He begins to pick up the rolls off the ground.
”Wait! Don't eat those” Kat grabs both rolls. ”They are filthy”
”Listen Lady..” He grabs them back. ”I have to. If I don't then I won't eat again until next week”
”What do you mean? I thought you said that you stayed at an orphanage?” She stared at him.
He laughed. ”I do. But that woman doesn't care! She believes in god and stuff but doesn't do godly things!”
”Well why don't you go to the king and queen with this?” She was frustrated.
Logan sighs. ”Someone has...but it was no use. They don't care. No one does. No one wants us. We will always be nobody's. Heck even our own parents didn't want us! Why would anyone else want to have us..” He starts to cry but holds the tears back.
Kat stands. ”That's evil..” her face went blank. She grabbed her sword. ”Come on.” She grabbed him quickly.
”Miss what are-”
”Shh. You'll figure out” She begins to walk as she pulls the horse behind her. She stops when she stands in front of the orphanage. ”Stay here” She walks inside.
Logan waits outside. ”Hmmm” He suddenly hears banging sounds coming from inside.
Soon Kat walks out with papers. When she walked up to him she put the papers in her bag and turned to Logan. ”You never have to suffer again” She sits behind him on the horse.
He looks up at her. ”What do you mean?”
She smiles. ”You said nobody wanted you..” She looked away but back at him. ”But you're wrong...” She hugged him tightly. ”I want you!”
Logan was startled but soon realized what had happened. ”You....you want me?”
Kat kissed his head. ”Yes. Welcome to the family!”
Logan started to cry. ”Thank you! Thank you!”
”Now lets go home” She smiled as they rode out of the castle walls.
As Kat made her way through the wall she noticed that her base had dead bodies everywhere. ”Oh no!” She jumps off her horse. ”Stay put!” She tells Logan as she rushes to the bodies. ”No no!” She picks one up. ”No pulse..” She lays the body back down.
”Queen..” A faint voice says.
Kat turns to where the voice came from. She sees a female guard sitting next to a dead body. ”Olivia!” She runs to her. ”What happened?”
Olivia sobs and sobs.

Kat holds her. ”Did the sand kingdom do this? Did they?” She orders as she bites her lip looking at her fallen soldiers.
Olivia sucks up her tears. ”Your....your...”
”My what?” Kat shakes her a little. ”Spit it out!”
”What happened?” Logan says as he stands behind Kat. He was staring at the bodies.
Kat quickly turns around. ”Logan” She grabs him. ”I told you to stay on the horse” She sighs. ”Listen..” She turns to Olivia. ”Take Logan here back to Wolfhound.” She stands. ”I'll take care of all this” She rubs her eyes.
Olivia nods. ”But Kat...”
Kat looks at her.
”It was your brother...” Olivia looks at the ground.
Kat stands there shocked. She says nothing. Suddenly she shakes her head. ”NO!” She fires a lighting bolt at a tree near by. It explosives.
”Wow” Logan says surprised.
Olivia looks terrified. ”I'm-”
”No!” Kat grabs her hand. ”Go now!” She pulls her and Logan to the horse.
They get on.
