Volume 2 Chapter 30: Unexpected Encounter

George and I were slowly approaching the person in the cove from behind.

That person had a large leather bag at their side.

Sticking a hand into the bag, the stranger sprinkled the powder that glittered with a purple color. The moment that powder came in contact with seawater, it’s color changed to black.

If we were to believe the reaction from the jewel, ingredients derived from magic stones must’ve been used in that powder.

…I’ve never heard of magic stone powder that changes the color of the sea though…

However, there is no doubt that it is a substance that contains plenty of magical power.

…Scattering such a substance so close to the city, is just a bad idea…

Indeed, there was a method to attract and hunt monsters for materials that involved the use of low purity magic stone powder.

However, it is usually done in a remote place, away from settlements. Were one to do it so close to a town there was a good chance of getting dragged away by guards.

In fact, this time, the city suffered damage from monsters and even dispatched adventurers and personnel from the guilds to deal with the issue, which actually pisses me off. How about acting with more consideration?

……We haven’t been noticed yet, so I guess I should make use of the element of surprise and press for answers.

And while thinking that were George and I to team-up, there is no way for the opponent to get away that easily, I walked towards the center of the cove.

「Hey you, over there. What are you doing in such a place——」

I uttered a question. It was at that moment.

「——Nee-san, stop…!」

George said in a firm tone and stopped Cecile with his hand.

While wondering at first, what he is doing, considering how close we got without being noticed, I immediately understood his intentions.
