Chapter 243 - The Lonely Devil (4) (1/2)

(Jane's PoV)

The wind rumbled as my punch met the wood hard skin of the red creature. The shock of the punch even spread to the surrounding vicinity and the shadows were exterminated in a flash as the ghosts fled for themselves. The creature let out a deafening howl as it was forced to get into the portal again.

My punch might hurt it. From the way it reacted, it must be furious of me. Its eyes glared at me with a shock and madness reflected in them. With a loud roar, it forced its way out again.

My eyes squinted. Still didn't want to give up, huh? Fine.

My feet didn't land on the ground for too long as I leaped again and covered my hands in blue flame. I didn't miss the fear and shock in its eyes as soon as it saw the flame in my hands.

I smirked. So, you're afraid of this flame, right? How about a taste of it, then?

Just when I was about to deliver another punch to it, it roared loudly and a layer of thick red mist covered its body and met my punch. I met a bit of resistant as my hand made a contact with the red mist but it was only for some milliseconds before my fist went through it.

However, those milliseconds were what it was aiming. In those milliseconds, it could retract itself from the portal and returned to its world, successfully avoiding my punch.

My eyes darkened. Planning to run away? Now that I knew your weakness, how could I let you go easily?

Without much thought, I jumped into the portal, only to find a much stronger resistance from the red mist. I burned my way in but countless creatures suddenly appeared and attacked me.

Even though my blue flame was formidable, I couldn't use it to burn them all carelessly. What if those creatures ran away and accidentally burned the good creatures living in this mountain?

I sighed. If only Sanji could use his power. It would be a piece of cake for him to trap them all in a place and I could burn them all with ease.

Even though the red devil had gone, its lingering aura still existed. The pressure and the thick bloodl.u.s.t had not immediately gone. Taking care of it would be troublesome and require much energy and time to control my power. And I honestly didn't have that much time since I had a 'fugitive' to chase.

If I could catch that red thing, I thought I could force it to retract its aura -whether it would harm him or not, I didn't care.

Since it was decided like that, I moved even quickly to eradicate everything in my path that dared to block me from chasing that evil red.

But, still... it was easier said than done.

”Damn it! Get away from me!” I yelled in frustration as I made a hole in the barricade of strange creatures again.

Strangely, the hole would be patched up immediately with new creatures even before I could penetrate it. It was frustrating, indeed. If only I had a back up.

Siji was off with Tom. I could summon him but I didn't think this kind of thing needed him.

Tom was even more out of question since he was off to train himself.

Summoning the army? Nah. It would be troublesome -even though it might look badass if I did that.
