Chapter 234 - The Rage of A Father (1) (1/2)

(Jane's PoV)

”You're here.” My eyes met with a pair of familiar and warm eyes, but the owner was someone I just met.

She wasn't entirely a stranger since I could sense some familiarity in her, but I wasn't sure if it was her or not.

Could it be...

”My Queen?” I called out hesitantly. The one in front of me didn't look like the Queen of South Sea at all, instead she looked more... human.

The woman smiled and waved towards a maid that I recognized as one of the four that had come with us here. Seeing the obedience the maid showed when she waved her hand, I was sure she was the Queen, indeed.

As expected of the Queen, even when she changed her appearance, she couldn't erase her elegance completely. On the other hands, she could mask her identity as the resident of astral world and appeared totally... human.

What a frightening skill of disguise!

”Sit down, child.” She pointed at the chair near her.

Why did it sound so suspicious? Even so, I did sit down slowly. My body went into alert mode, just in case something were to happen so I could bolt out as soon as possible.

”Based on what your father told me, you're almost nineteen years old now?” She stared at me with a gentle gaze, but I sensed a hidden agenda behind her gaze.

”Yes?” I answered, but it ended up like a question since I was not entirely sure how my age related to anything she was about to say.

”I'm not really sure with how the world outside works for now, but considering your age, it must be your best time to bloom beautifully.”

Bloom? Like flower? Her word of choice somehow made me feeling terrified with the possibility this conversation would end up.

”Child, I've talked to your father, but we are just old people. Whatever we talked about, we need your consent to it.” She started, looking serious this time.

See? I knew it! They must have talked something about me behind my back and probably reached to a decision, and this whole conversation saying that 'they needed my consent' was just a big fat lie!

”We were wondering whether you already have someone you fancy out there--”

”Yes!” I answered quickly, even before I processed the whole sentence completely. ”I-I do have someone I fancy out there.”

I didn't stutter, right? It wouldn't be convincing if I stuttered.

The Queen arched her eyebrows. Her expression didn't show any displeasure from my disrespectful attitude of cutting off her words when she had not finished speaking.

”Sweetie, you will never know how long a relationship can last.” She smiled.

I was speechless. From the way she said it, I was one hundred percent sure that they talked about getting me engaged to someone related to the Queen. I knew it!

”My Queen, you underestimate people's feeling.” I smiled at her.

At this moment, I remembered what had been nagging in my mind. I left those two on the shore and I had no idea how long I had left them there!

Did they set a camp there? I doubted that since the local policemen would definitely drive them away. They might have gone to find an inn nearby to keep an eye to the sea. If the waves were getting extreme, they would know for sure that there was something wrong and I might need their help.

We had talked about that before I went down to the sea. Since I had returned on the land, I should be able to call them, but I really forgot about them!

”Siji.” I called out and as usual, he appeared silently. ”Can you bring Sanji here? I can summon Tom here but Sanji is a different case.”

”Yes, Milady.” Siji nodded with a slight bow towards me. After that, he left.

”Is that the Seventh Advisor?” The Queen of South Sea's eyes sparkled with a new vigor as she looked at me.
