Chapter 223 - The Meeting (3) (1/2)
(Jane's PoV)
”Sixth Master, I believe you had finished your homework of learning the history of your previous Masters splendidly, but did you know why the demons had not attacked us for decades even when the borderlines weakened to such state?” Third Master eyed the man with solemn expression but a look of disdain was clear in his eyes.
The Sixth Master twitched his eyes in annoyance. Seeing his action to keep mum with gritted teeth, I knew that he must have known the reason why.
”Seeing your response, you must have known the answer. Then, don't speculate things again. We can't sacrifice people's life just because of one tiny ignorant thought. We are the Masters of Mystical Armies. Even if in other times we will have a competition between us, but in time like this, we need to unify our forces.” The old man spoke slowly but the reprimanded tone in his voice was so clear that I thought I heard a slap being delivered towards the Sixth Master's face.
It's rude to laugh, it's rude to laugh. I repeated those sentences in my head to remind myself not to laugh out loud for the Sixth Master's ignorance.
”You're laughing. Do you know the answer to his question?” Siji whispered in my ear.
Honestly, it was still unclear for me. I only knew that it was related to First Master of White Army, but I had no clue about the exact things happened at that time. I had asked Siji when I learned about it, but he just said that he had no idea about what had happened at that time.
I believed he must have been hiding something about it.
Something as heroic as what the First Master had done must have been written in a thick book like a great novel based on true story. But, the information about her was only one page length.
It was suspicious, but I didn't know where to find the right information about it.
”At least I know not to make myself sound like a fool in times like this.” I whispered back to him.
Siji didn't respond, but I knew he definitely liked my answer. My focus turned back to the old men arguing about how they should divide the force in protecting human realm. Each of these masters had their own territory to protect and since this matter would occur globally, I could imagine how much of a trouble it would be to protect everything in one go.
Not to mention there was no exact information about which part of the human realm would weaken first.
I watched the discussion quietly. Since no one asked about my opinion, I didn't bother to say anything. After all, with majority of the masters being older than me, no, ALL of them were older than me, they must have thought that I was too green to involve in this matter.
It was fine by me, though.
After all, this discussion was no different than foolish students arguing about foolish and baseless things. I mean, they didn't even know where the next attack would happen, but here they were debating about who to protect where. There were loopholes in their arrangements, too.
I wonder what was inside their mind.
”Siji, is there anyway to find out which part will weaken first?” I whispered.
Siji pondered a bit then he shook his head. His mouth opened, but then he closed it again. He looked like he wanted to say something, but he chose not to do it.
