Chapter 168 - Side Story: She Is His Fiancee, But She Has A Boyfriend (1) (1/2)

His name was Sanjaya Adiguna, a young man who was capable of exorcism as well as seducing women. He was around 15 years old when he experienced his first love. Unfortunately, the one he loved was a four year-old girl. The lonely boy who had no friends because people would say that he was crazy fell in love with the warm and cheerful smile of four year old Jane. His father and Jane's father were friends and they had a chance to visit Jane's family at that time for a week. And he fell in love just on the very first day he stepped in the house.

During their visit, Sanji, that's what some people called him, got close to the little girl and amazingly, the girl got attached to him. Every morning for the next six days, that little girl would cheerfully wake him up at 5.30 and urge him to get up and drank milk with her. No matter how sleepy he was, he would always wake up at the sound of her cheerful voice calling his name.

”Brother Anji, Brother Anji, wake up! Wake up! Let's drink milk! Mom is making pancakes this morning, too! Come on, wake up!”

When the sun was rising up, she would bring him outside to enjoy the morning sun. He would accompany her, too. Her parents sometimes scolded her for bothering him so much, but he smilingly said to them that it was fine, that he liked it.

He had never known he would have that gentle look on his face. A 15 year-old boy already had the feeling to indulge that little girl in gentleness, pamper her, and spoil her every little wish.

It was probably because of that his father had the courage to propose a betrothal to Jane's father. However, Sanji's father forgot to put the word 'serious' in his proposal. It went as a small talk between friends, which resulted Jane's father had never mentioned about it to her at all.

At the age of 15 years old, young Sanji didn't really understand the concept of betrothal, but he was smart. With a bit explanation from his father, he knew that Jane was supposed to be his future wife. He got to live with the girl like his father and mother and he was excited as he was thinking about that.

However, his father said not to expect more, since Jane was still a kid, it was more likely that she would forget about him. If they were destined to be together, then fate would find a way for them to be together. After saying that, his father told them that they had to move out.

Therefore, he got separated with his little sweetheart for years. He became skeptical that she would still remember him and so he tried to date another girl. No luck, though. Thirteen years later, he met her again.

He had heard about her applying for the same university he was teaching at from his father. However, due to his tight schedule outside the campus, he couldn't meet her. But, just like what his father said, if they were destined to be together, fate would find a way to bring them together.

That day, when he was feeling a bit upset because a ghost dared to haunt him, he met her again. At first glance, he didn't know whether the girl he had just saved was Jane. However, he couldn't help but to check her out again because of her fair skin, hair being tied up in a bun with some wavy strands framing her face, and that familiarity he got from staring at her.

When he heard her name, he practically had to exert every ounce of his power to stop himself from hugging her in a bear hug. He tried to act calm and mature, and only said some things to her about their past together. But, it seemed like she didn't know that they were engaged.

Well, it was a verbal engagement, not the official one, but still...

Only after he managed to calm him down that he could size her carefully.

Other than her fair skin and slightly reddish-colored hair which was tied in a bun, Sanji finally understood the familiarity he felt just now. She still had those round and cute eyes, only minus the innocence. Her figure matured well with her age and she turned from a lovely and bubbling little girl, to a sweet and calm young girl.

Thump! He could feel his heart beat faster than usual. He almost couldn't hide his disappointment when he knew she didn't know about their childhood engagement. However, he tried to be so understanding by looking at different excuses he found in his brain.

Maybe her father forgot to tell her about it!

Wel, it has been too long since the last time they met, so it was only normal for her to forget about him!

As the older one, he needed to be magnanimous and let her be. It was his fault for leaving at that time, though.
