Chapter 164 - Living Together (1/2)

(Jane's PoV)

I felt lost.

I had just known that Siji loved love-triangle story a lot. He even found us amusing and watched us excitedly that I wouldn't believe that he didn't like story about love-triangle. However, before Tom and Sanji got involved further in argument, Siji reminded Tom about the reason he was brought here.

”I think you should report yourself now.” Siji nodded at him.

”Report? What report?” I looked at the both of them alternately.

”Where is the Master?” Tom was snapped back to his senses as soon as he heard what Siji said.

I had a feeling the moment he said Master. Just seeing him able to communicate with Siji made me suspicious. Now that Siji mentioned about report, my assumption was likely to be correct.

I watched as Siji nodded at me nonchalantly. I also watched as Tom's face changed into confusion when he made sure that I was the one Siji pointed at.

”She is the Master?” Tom voiced it out, demanding for a verbal answer, yet he only got a nod from Siji.

”If what you mean is Master of First Army, yes, that's me.” I nodded.

”Aah.” Tom didn't look surprised, but he looked like he had expected it. ”Make sense.” He nodded.

I arched my eyebrows. ”You take it so easily. Now tell me, what is it that you want to report to me?”

Out of nowhere, he reached out his hand to me for a handshake. With a firm gaze and polite smile, he said to me, ”My name is Thomas Putra Alamsyah, starting today I will be your General. Please, take care of me.”

See? I KNEW IT!

”Welcome to the army, Sir Thomas. Please, take care of me, too.” It wasn't awkward. It was as if we were just partners in work.

Warm glow emitted from where our hands were connected and enveloped our bodies. I felt cool breeze on my body despite that warmth in my hand. So refreshing. For a split second, I was brought into my consciousness. I already knew that I had vast consciousness to house my spiritual power, but now, even though I still couldn't see the end of my consciousness, I could feel the flow of spiritual power was getting better and swift. The form also changed a bit; it was getting thicker and longer. Even though I put my hand in the stream, the smoke didn't dissipate where my hand was. Instead, it got thicker and circled my hand in a tight grip.

Surprise? Of course. I didn't know the presence of a General could affect my own power. What about Tom, then?

The glow dissipated and once again I looked at Tom who still had a surprise expression on his face. I looked at him carefully and found out that the flow of his spiritual power was also as swift as mine. It was as if we were connected to each other. I shifted my gaze to Siji and found out that he had a dumbfounded expression on his face, too. Not because of us, but because he had felt his own spiritual power matched to ours.

”Indeed, the appearance of a General can bring a significant change to us now that we're complete.” Siji nodded. ”Also, I didn't know the report could be done that way. The previous Masters and Generals made it in ceremony, with kneeling and everything. You're the only ones who made a report and established the connection with that simple introduction and handshake.”

”Should we redo it, then?” I asked, a bit worried with the future.

”No. The condition is for the General to report him/herself to the Master and get acknowledgement from the Master. Physical contact from the Master is the main key of this report. Most of the Master put their hand on top of the General's head, blessing the General with their acceptance.” Siji explained.

”Then, it's alright like this.” Tom smiled.

”Are you done?” Sanji's voice made me remember that he was still with us. He stepped forward and again pulled me away from Tom. ”Please, maintain a reasonable distance between you and her before we clear out several things.”

Again, Tom frowned in displeasure. ”I don't think there is anything to be cleared out.” He replied coldly.

”Of course. Since I'm her fiance, it should be like what you said. There's nothing to talk about.” Sanji smirked.

The frown on Tom's face got even deeper. It was clear that he was provoked by what Sanji said. I was about to interrupt but Siji held me back and shook his head.

”Why?” I asked him in a whisper.

”Let them talk.” He said. ”They need to settle it between them. If you take side, the one on the other side would leave you, I'm sure you don't want it.”
