Chapter 159 - The Tears of A Mother (2) (1/2)

(Tom's PoV)

I was still watching her, ignoring the couple who was still hugging each other the bed nearby, when she turned her head towards me sharply. Her red eyes bulged out as she glared at me. Her face was still wet from her tears, but it only made her appearance even more ghastly. Her lips stiffened and growl was heard from her throat. The dark mist around her thickened, creating an even more eerie atmosphere.

There was no doubt the two nearby were affected, especially Nita who was obviously not in a good condition. Her mental was still shaky, a perfect condition for a human to get possessed. But no, she was not possessed entirely since she became linked to the ghost because of the dark mist.

I was startled seeing the ghost was standing upright with her chin up as she looked down on me. The same happened to Nita who got out from Rama's embrace and stood on the bed. She got the same posture as the ghost as she glared at her husband.

”Nita? Baby? What's wrong with you?” Rama asked carefully, a bit surprised with his wife's behavior. He was probably feeling a bit scared, too. I mean, who wouldn't be scared when someone was glaring at you with all her heart?

I went back to my body and got into the room. ”You had better gone out now.” I advised him without breaking eye contact with the ghost.

”But...” Rama was about to protest, but I didn't let him.

”Just go! Get some help! Don't let her approach the living room!” I shouted at him. ”Trust me.”

Rama grunted in distress but he obeyed what I said. Actually, it was just an excuse. I didn't want him to see me fighting with invisible force. Of course, I wouldn't fight Nita. I had my chain to restrain her movement and another chain to seal the room so that the ghost couldn't escape, but the main issue was the ghost herself.

How do I deal with her when I don't possess my chain?

”Be careful with her, human. She is dangerous. I smell something rotten from her. Big chance that she sold her soul to the devil to acquire this disgusting ability.” Putra's voice travelled to my ears. Even his way of talking which was usually mischievous and overbearing sounded serious.

This ghost was a real deal. She was even more terrifying with those in the air plane. I wonder why, though.

”I know.” I said between my gritted teeth.

My body went full alert, every movement of the ghost made me flinched. The pressure was strong, but I could stand it. I guessed I could say it was all thanks to the first trial. My shield was getting stronger after my encounter with Putra Semesta, but somehow I felt that I was still lacking in some ways.

I knew how to fight the ghost, after all I managed to capture all the shadows in the airplane before. Compare to this ghost in front of me, there was a huge difference of number. How could I take care of more than a dozen shadows but feel helpless against one ghost?

Of course, the difference was I could freely capture those shadows before since I was in my spirit form, but here I needed to make sure that Nita would be left unharmed. I could use my chain to restrain her and the other chain to seal the place so that nothing could come and join in the fight.

But, how could I fight her without my chain?

I knew how to fight them without weapons, but to do that, I needed to be in my spirit form to better use my spiritual power. But, to be in my spirit form, I needed to make sure it was safe for me. What if Rama came back and saw me unmoving? He might think something had happened to me and making them even more panic was the last thing I wanted to do. Not to mention all the troublesome explanation I needed to give to them.

On the other hand, fighting with my physical form was not entirely useless. If only I could use my spiritual power better, including fusing it with my physical form, I didn't have to worry about anything. To be frank, I was bad at it.

Was there any easy way to master it?

Without my chains to back me up and without the ability to use my spiritual power freely, what else could I do? But, it didn't mean I could only sit back and do nothing.

Why didn't I use the chain to capture her instead of sealing the room? I would say, nice idea, but no. I needed to know why this woman haunted Nita and Rama. For that, I needed to lower her guard or defeat her. After that, I could enter her mind or coax her to let me see her past.

On the other hand, her dark skill she obtained from selling her soul to devil was pretty powerful. If I didn't seal the room, our fight would attract other ghosts here and it would create a worse situation. Therefore, I opted for sealing the room and dealing with one ghost instead of directly using the chain to eradicate more of them.
