Chapter 105 - It Was Because Of Me! (2/2)
”I'll let them know you're here.” He said.
I nodded my head and bit my tongue lightly to remind myself not to ask where his stammering went. He went further into the house, gave me an opportunity to explore this place.
I didn't need to wait for too long, though. Not long after the man disappeared, some people came in with the man was walking not too far from them.
I arched my eyebrows as I saw them. They were Amanda's sisters, brothers, and mother. Instead of being warm and friendly upon seeing me for the first time, all of them had dark expression on their faces, except the first man. Other than their expression, I sensed something off from them.
”Miss Jane.” The oldest woman, the mother I assumed, greeted me with stern face. Her wrinkled face didn't affect the strong body she possessed as she stood straight as an arrow while looking down at me.
I stood up, holding my bag on one hand with my back straight and my eyes met hers. ”I believe it's the first time we met.” I smiled a bit as I offered my hand for a handshake.
”That's right.” The old woman replied shortly as she reached out to shake my hands.
When my hand grabbed her hand in a powerful handshake, I saw shadows, probably two to four came out from her body. It was like they were trying to ask me to play with them.
”My name is Sumirah, Amanda's mother. I'm really grateful for your coming to see her.” Her stern face was still on, but an awkward smile appeared on her face.
I smiled even deeper. From the corner of my eyes, I could see some movements behind me. The only person behind me was a man, probably Amanda's brother. Since when he moved behind my back, I didn't know.
I cleared my throat as I finally realized what was off from them.
It was because in each one of them, there was at least two shadows leeching onto their soul.
No wonder the tiger said they were rotten.
I didn't know the reason behind it, it could be because they served as a sacrifice or they were the one who were using the shadows, but whatever the reason was, this family was indeed too disgusting.
”I'm sorry for the lack of manners. Ever since Amanda died, her father went into comma as well. Our family couldn't afford to let him being treated in the hospital even after we sold so many things so we took him back. I'm only able to provide you with plain water, please pardon us.” The mother spoke softly and full of awkward smiles, but only God knew how much she wanted to throw me out from her house.
Also, who asked about her husband? I didn't even utter a word about anything other than showing my condolences yet she had explaining about her husband.
I sneered inwardly, knowing fully well the reason why her husband lost his consciousness.
It was because of me!
