Chapter 102 - Shut Up! (1/2)
(Tom's PoV)
After reluctantly leaving my girlfriend, Jane, to go to where my body was staying, I was pulled by unknown force and suddenly I was surrounded by darkness.
I couldn't see anything other than feeling the strong force pulling me. The idea of losing my ability to see made me panic for a second, but then I saw a ray of light was coming closer and closer to me.
No, it was me getting closer to the ray of light.
As the light was getting bigger and bigger, in the end I was swallowed by the blinding light, causing me to close my eyes to avoid being hurt by it.
All of my senses felt dull. I couldn't hear, see, smell, speak or even feel anything. It was as if I was thrown into a bright white room without gravity, leaving me floating around with no place to go.
Was I being sent to the right place?
I was wondering in the middle of being senseless. My eyes were still closed. I had no intention to open it since the glaring light was still too bright for me. Even with my eyes closed I could still see the light, what would happen if I opened my eyes?
I could have just surrendered to the situation I was in. As long as I knew I was conscious, I should just wait patiently to finally reach the place my body was in.
I didn't know how long I have spent in the bright room, but slowly I started to regain my senses.
My feet felt numb. No matter how hard I tried to move it, I couldn't move it. Then, I felt my stiff fingers touched something soft and nice. My fingers reflexively moved but it was still too stiff to move after all. So, I remained quiet again.
After that, there was no sign for my other senses to improve. Other than the feeling in my fingers and feet, I felt nothing else.
Time passed by and suddenly one day, I could hear some voices around me.
At first it came as buzzing sound, but eventually it became coherent. I could hear some people talk. Even though the language was something I was not familiar with, I could understand it. It was not some special ability to understand the language, many people were fluent in this language.
”After two years, this patient finally shows some changes. Do you think he will wake up soon?”
It was a woman's voice. Judging from the way she spoke, she must be a nurse.
Does it mean I am in a hospital or a small clinic?
”I hope he could wake up soon. He has been asleep for too long, he might need a hell of therapy to regain his ability to walk after he wakes up.” Another voice chimed in. She sounded hopeful and calm.
”Doctor Gwen has put a lot of efforts for this patient in these couple of months. After having a series of convulsions, this patient really shows some improvements. Let's hope he will really wake up, and nothing bad will happen to him.”
Convulsions? Me?
