Born in Nantong, Jiangsu Province on December 1, 1927.
He graduated from the radar Department of a communication engineering college (University of Electronic Science and Technology) in 1953.
From 1984 to 1992, he served as president of a University of Electronic Science and technology, and has been engaged in theoretical research and engineering practice in radar and signal processing for a long time.
In the early 1960s, he presided over the development of the first microwave weather radar in China. In the early 1970s, he invented the ”impact flashover method” to detect the fault of buried power cables, which solved a major problem in the power supply department.
Since the mid-1970s, systematic and in-depth research has been carried out in many aspects, such as digital signal processing, statistical signal processing, array signal processing and adaptive signal processing.
It has successively developed 0.5us and 0.2us radar moving target display, radar antenna adaptive sidelobe canceller, radar moving target detector, programmable moving target detector, etc. it has been popularized and applied to relevant factories, stations and troops and configured in a variety of radars.
It is committed to the research of spatial signal super-resolution, radar imaging and spatio-temporal two-dimensional signal processing, and puts forward more systematic and complete concepts and methods.
