Chapter 30: Warm Feelings (1/2)
”Zombie attack! Zombie attack!”
Hearing the frantic shout. Everyone stood up and goes outside immediately.
The man who shouted is Anthony, he is the one who is task to scout after they finished eating. By scout, it means that he needs to monitor the movement of the zombie inside the Barangay Hall.
He has a crew cut, and a toned cheek bone. He is 172cm tall and has a thin build. Just like the others, his appearance is unkept because of not having a bath for a few days, or even months.
As Anthony arrived at the front, he arch his back and rested both of his hand on his knees.
”The.gasp*. S.strong..gasp* Zombie.gasp* is coming.gasp* here” Anthony speaks hurriedly, but because he is panting heavily, the way he speaks is slightly inaudible.
Seeing this, Marlin come to Anthony's side and patted his still arch back.
”Easy, Easy. Froilan get some water!”
Froilan nodded and run inside the house. He comes back right after with a glass of water in his hand.
Froilan then handed the glass full of water towards Anthony. After calming down little, Anthony drinks and emptied the glass of water immediately.
After drinking, Anthony then explains what he had encountered.
According to Anthony. The Level One° zombie inside the Barangay Hall goes out as usual. But this time, after a few rounds of searching, zombies suddenly started appearing one after another.
All of gathered towards the location of the Level One° zombie. After the group of zombies gathered, they started their march towards the base's location.
Seeing this, Anthony immediately runs back to report what is happening.
Base on what Froilan said to Nile, the Level One° zombie inside the Barangay Hall will often wander around the 50-70 meter radius from the Barangay Hall.
As they did not know why, they can only assume that it is searching for food. They will scout the Barangay Hall area frequently to monitor the movement of the Level One° zombie inside it.
This time it looks like it is not searching for food and instead is gathering forces to raid their base.
Learning the severity of the situation, Marlin immediately takes command and started giving orders to everyone.
”Get the guns that we have looted from before. Spread the gasoline outside the gate. Get ready for battle.” Marlin's face is tense as he gives out the order.
Base on what Anthony had said, the zombies marching speed are like a normal walk.
Nile and Marlin arrived here from the Barangay Hall with 20+ minutes of fast walk.
Base on the zombies speed, they estimated that the zombie group will probably arrive here at 15 minutes. Anthony arrived at the base with 9 minutes of running. He dared not to stop.

After a minute, everyone gathered again at the front. They have already spread the gasoline 3 meters outside the gate.
Marlin, Romulo, Hector and Clarris are holding a gun each.
Marlin has a pistol. Romulo and Hector have a shotgun, while Clarris is holding a small revolver.
Froilan and the others are holding either a baseball bat, staffs, or kitchen knives.
Nile did not make a comment on this. He thought that they are prepared, but they are underestimating the Level One° zombies too much. With only half-step zombies, they might have a chance as guns still have a considerable effect on them. But Level One° zombies are already at a whole new Level.
He could tell that Marlin, Romulo, Hector and Clarris is already at half-step Level One°, but their stats is lower and is far from the threshold of 5.0.
Maybe that is also the reason why they have the priority to hold the guns.

Except for Nile, everyone is tense as they stared at the road where the group of zombies will appear.
Nile could see that everyone is sweating bullets. Some of them are even gulping their own saliva.
This must be their first time to battle with the zombies. Although they are already here from the start, they are not proactive and only scouted the area, avoiding the zombies as much as possible.
