28 A Twist of Fate (1/2)
Draig was sitting in a grand hall dedicated to special events hosted by the Association, seated at a table near the front he was accompanied by Sylvie and Tina along with Goeki and the other former leaders of the factions. Looking closely you could see a clear split in the seating, most of the Guilders who had started following Draig had chosen to stay seated by his side at nearby table while those who had not participated had sat with their fellow guild mates.
At the very front of the room was the table where Zarra along with the Guild Leaders discussing many things though unable to heard by the crowd it seemed that there was an intense level of boot licking taking place.
Draig narrowed his eyes at those Leaders, his anger at seeing these people living such happy lives while he had faced the world on his own had caused a bit of his own aura to begin leaking out alerting the Guilders at his side who tensed in anticipation.
Zarra cast a glance at Draig alerting the Guild heads to the occurrence but upon noticing who it was they became somber as their thoughts went to a certain agreement they had.
”Lord Zarra what is that thing doing here” asked the rotund man narrowing his eyes
”That thing is the reason why your Guilders managed to pass” answered Zarra already preparing for this eventuality.
”We had a deal he would be kept away from out subordinates” stated another of the Guild leaders
”Yes I have thought about that and I don't recall any of you sending any resources into the farm over the past few months since I had been occupied running the training camp” answered Zarra
”We gave you a vast majority of our resources for that training camp, that should be considered as his resources as well” countered the potions master
”We all know very well your just trying to find trouble, the resources sent to the camp cannot be considered resources that are owed due to the agreement as they were necessitated for the training of your Guilders” stated Zarra coolly
The Guild Leaders seethed silently until they heard Zarra speak again.
”If you wish to act against him do it in broad daylight, I have grown tired of you all trying to attack from behind the scenes and make me the bad guy” stated Zarra as he sipped his glass
Hearing this the Guild Leaders smiled before a suave looking man decided to take the lead gaining the attention of everyone as he stood up and walked towards Draig's table with purpose.
At the table Draig had realized that he was causing a stir among the higher ups with his presence but he did not care as he turned towards Osmond.
”Check the levels of those Guild Leaders” ordered Draig getting a nod in response
”The levels among them range from between the low hundreds far weaker than the doppelgangers we had fought previously” reported Osmond getting a surprised look from Draig at the revelation they had been training with monsters this entire time
”The man walking towards us has a level barely reaching a hundred and fifty, his stats are negligible” reported Osmond
”Excellent” stated Draig as he waited for the man to approach
It wasn't long until he had stood before him with an imposing demeanor that caused Draig to smile to himself.
”You need to leave little monster” stated the man intimidatingly but it was for not
