Kiang Leilei swallowed an invisible lump in her throat as she stared at the big bulge in between Wang Yuvin's legs. Was she really ready for the next step? She then rested her eyes on Wang Yuvin's face. She then felt scared. What if their intimacy was short-lived? Like the effect of drug on her, only temporary. What if the attraction she felt for him evolved into something more dangerous such as love while Wang Yuvin did not feel the same towards her? What would become of her? Her train of thoughts was abruptly interrupted the moment Wang Yuvin cupped her face in his hands. The warmth coming from his palm instantly melted the worries in her muddled heart.

”Let us be serious here. For the last time, are you really sure you want us to do it? I want to be honest with you. Once we became intimate with each other, I cannot fall in love with you just yet. For your own sake. I am saying this to make things clear between us. I want to keep you, Lei. But now is not the right time. My world is still a mess. I have no plans to drag you into my chaotic world.” Wang Yuvin's tone was mild and sweet.

Kiang Leilei was speechless for a moment as her perfect lashes fluttered involuntarily. It was as if she was having a hard time understanding what she heard from Wang Yuvin. Was he rejecting her? Or was he thinking that what she wanted was only a one-night stand? Or was it his way of telling her that they can be intimate but no strings attached?

”Lei?” Wang Yuvin gently called out her name while he moved his face closer to hers. It seemed like her silence had made him wonder to such an alarming level.

”So, are you telling me that you cannot fall in love with me? Why? Is it because of the Italian woman who called you? Is she holding your heart? Are you still committed to her that you refused to entertain your feelings for me?” Kiang Leilei's heart was stung by her misinterpretation of Wang Yuvin's words. Furthermore, past events amplified the pain as they turned her into a jealous and envious woman.

”Hey, relax. I am not in a romantic relationship with anyone. And if ever that happens, it is only to you I wanted to be romantically involved with. And please, don't twist my words. What I said was I cannot fall in love with you yet. I still have lots of things that I need to focus on.”

”Okay, basically you are telling me that I am an obstacle to you? That my existence is nothing but a hindrance?” Failing to understand Wang Yuvin's real intention, Kiang Leilei started to feel annoyed.

”Sorry, I cannot tell you everything yet. But please, I need you to trust me, Lei. Once I have taken care of all my complications, I will not just ask you to become my girlfriend. I will immediately seek your hand for marriage. I will make you my wife.” The sincerity in Wang Yuvin's eyes was enough to brighten up her mood.

”Are you really that much willing to take risks with me?”

”Yes. As much as you are willing to put your life on the line just to save me.”

After hearing Kiang Leilei's words, Wang Yuvin did not move his mouth to utter a reply. He just started to close the distance between them to conquer Kiang Leilei's plump lips.
