155 Got in the wrong car (2/2)

”We will put a bandage on your knuckle for the meantime. If your knuckle is still swollen until tomorrow night, please come back here for another test.” The doctor said with a smile.

”Thank you, doctor.” Wang Reiji replied smiling at Doctor Wu as well.

”You know what, I do not know if this is just a mere coincidence. But, did you know that the patient before you had his nose checked? Haha, I was actually thinking that it was you who punched him!”

”Hehehe, I like your sense of humor, Doctor. But how can a fragile woman such as myself punch a full grown man like him.” Wang Reiji said as she tried to laugh at the Doctor's joke.

”Haha I know, right? But the timing was so on point. I should have introduced the two of you to each other.”

Upon hearing the doctor's words, Wang Reiji swallowed an invisible lump in her throat. Why was the doctor being nosy?! Was the doctor trying to be a matchmaker or any of sort? Well, even if her knuckle still continued to swell, she will never come back here again!

”Doctor, here is a pack of elastic knuckle bandage.” The nurse had returned from her quick errand.

”Thanks, Nurse Cha. Your hand Miss Jing.”

As soon as Wang Reiji had placed her hand in front of the doctor, he immediately but gently put the bandage around her swelling knuckle.

”This bandage will reduce the inflammation as well as protect your knuckle for sustaining any more injury.” Doctor Wu explained as he finished wrapping Wang Reiji's inflamed knuckle.

”Thanks, Doc. Aside from the bandage, do I need to take any medication?” Wang Reiji asked as she rubbed her knuckle which was now wrapped in a bandage.

”Ah, you can take a pain killer. But you said the pain is tolerable so you probably do not have to rely on it.”

”I see. Thanks again, Doctor.”Wang Reiji said as she offered a handshake with her left hand instead of the other one.

”You are welcome! Just come visit me whenever you have injuries and don't forget about me once you become famous, okay?” The doctor said as he shook hands with Wang Reiji.

”Hehe, sure!” Wang Reiji smiled at the doctor as she stepped outside the consultation room. As soon as she got to the next room, she hurriedly put her face mask on and baseball cap. She then roamed her eyes to look for her assistant Rentao who seemed to be missing in the scene.

”Hello, Miss Jing! Feeling any better? By the way, the guy who accompanied you here went to the restroom.” The nurse said as she cleaned her desk, seemingly ready to go home.

”Thank you, nurse.” Wang Reiji then took her phone out of her sleeves' pocket and contacted Rentao.

After two rings her assistant answered.

”Hey, Rentao! I am done with my checkup. Meet you at the hospital front exit, okay?”

”Mmmm.” The person on the other line replied.

Upon hearing the confirmation, Wang Reiji then stepped inside the elevator. In a few moments, she found herself walking towards the hospital's front exit point where their car was waiting for her.

Without thinking twice, Wang Reiji immediately hopped inside the car and buckled her seatbelt on.

”Villa now, Rentao.” Wang Reiji gave the person sitting on the driver's seat her instruction.

However, the person did not reply, he instead locked the doors of the car.

”Oi, Rentao? Are you sleepy already? Or tired? Can you still drive?” Wang Reiji tried to remain calm despite having an unsettling feeling when his assistant did not reply to her instruction.

”I think your assistant got into the wrong car.”

The familiar voice sent Wang Reiji into a state of panic, making her want to jump out of the car. However, her attempt was already too late for the car was already in motion.

”Don't try to do stupid things, Yin/Yizhi/Reiji or heaven knows what name you are using now. We have to talk.”

The man behind the steering wheel was not her assistant, it was none other than the father of her daughter, it was Zhang Chenric!
