Right after she finished the enrollment process, Kiang Leilei went straight to the Security Bureau to submit her notarized written statement.

Initially, her plan was just to tender a copy of her statement then immediately leave. Unfortunately, the Chief Investigator was still in a meeting and she was requested to wait for him inside his office.

”Excuse me, Miss Kiang. Would you like a cup of tea or coffee? We also have soda and fruit juice.” A subordinate of the Chief Investigator offered.

Kiang Leilei shook her head and declined.

”No, thank you.”

”Okay, Miss Kiang. If ever you need something, feel free to approach me. I'll go back to my post now.” The guy politely said as he stepped outside the chief's office, leaving Kiang Leilei all by herself.

”What a waste of my precious time!” Kiang Leilei exclaimed impatiently as soon as the person disappeared from her sight.

Before she completely gets annoyed, she decided to send a text message to her grandfather, informing him that she's okay and will be home for about an hour or two.

Her phone immediately rang right after the message was sent.

She automatically swiped right to receive the call, assuming that the call was from her grams.

”Hey, Grams! I'm all good. See you at dinner!” Kiang Leilei said in a cheerful voice.

”Lei...”

As soon as Kiang Leilei heard the voice from the other line, she ended the call right away.

”F*ck! I thought it was grams.”

Kiang Leilei hurriedly put her phone to silent and slid it back inside her bag.

”How dare her! After yelling at me, she still has the nerve to call?”

Kiang Leilei' face darkened as she recalled her heated argument with Liu Shenbi earlier.

Really? Yelling at her because of a jerk? How shallow their friendship is!

Her mood suddenly changed thanks to Liu Shenbi's call. So instead of waiting for the chief investigator, she stood up and walked toward the desk.

She slammed the brown envelope containing her written statement down the table. She was about to leave when her eyes caught sight of something interesting.
