Harlan secretly glanced at Bonnie next to him. ”Okay, I'll go back first,” he said.

When she heard this, Bonnie couldn't help but frown. ”Wait a minute. I have something to ask your assistant.”

Since Darren never told her anything, she knew she had to go to his assistant for help.

Darren gave her a cold stare. ”What do you want to ask him?”

Bonnie racked her brain as she tried to think of an excuse to tell him. She smiled and blinked innocently at him. ”I'm unsure about what to use for brewing your coffee. Is it all right if I ask your assistant for some advice? Everything I need is probably in the kitchen, so we shouldn't take long.”

Darren remained calm. He didn't know if he should believe her or not. After a few seconds of silence, he reluctantly agreed.

”Harlan, go with her to the kitchen. Make it quick.”

Harlan nodded at his order.

Seeing that the plan went off without a hitch, Bonnie breathed out a sigh of relief and went to the kitchen with Harlan.

The two of them entered the kitchen quietly. As soon as they closed the door, Harlan asked with a small smile, ”Miss Sun, you're not really here to ask me about coffee, are you?”

Bonnie nodded sheepishly as she admitted the truth. She looked at him with her beautiful eyes and went straight to the point. ”What on earth is wrong with your boss today? He just seems so irritated!”

Harlan hadn't expected that Bonnie's question would be about Darren. He was shocked for a second, but quickly recovered. He replied hesitantly, ”My boss is just a little tired from work.”

Unconvinced, Bonnie raised her eyebrows. She gave him a faint smile as she asked, ”Do you really think I would believe that excuse?”

Harlan was rendered speechless.

At the moment, Harlan had no idea how much Bonnie meant to Darren. If Darren didn't want to keep her in the loop about the affairs of his company, then Harlan might ruin Darren's original plan if he revealed too much to Bonnie.

But the woman in front of him seemed insistent and wouldn't take no for answer. She really wanted to know what was going on in Darren's company. How could he refuse her?
