”Wait, where did you learn how to bandage like this?” Ethan stood up from the bench and looked at his dressed wound in disbelief.

Estelle had used a bandaging technique that was completely different from the one used in hospitals.

However, he had seen this technique before. It had been used by the girl he was looking for.

When Ethan was a boy, he had been abducted and taken away along with a little girl.

It was then that he had seen her for the first time.

At that time, Ethan had been unruly and fearless. He had stood up to their abductors. Because of that, he had been regularly beaten up.

The little girl, on the other hand, had been the exact opposite. She had been frightened and panicked when beatings occurred, and had been unwilling to talk to anyone. One time, one of their abductors had beat her in front of Ethan, who had then thrown himself between her and the abductor and taken every blow that was meant for her.

After the beating was over, the little girl had come up to Ethan and patched him up. She had bandaged him up the exact same way that Estelle had done just now.

The little girl's technique had been sloppy, possibly because she had been young and lacked skill, but it was still the same technique as Estelle's.

”I've known how to bandage like that since I was a child. Why do you sound so surprised?” Estelle's voice brought Ethan back to reality.

He stared at Estelle with probing eyes as if searching for something.

Estelle eventually felt uncomfortable under Ethan's gaze, but she stared back decisively as if telling him that she was not afraid of him.

The two stared at each other for a while.

In the end, Ethan gave in and raised his hands in surrender.
