While Darren was looking for the key, Jacob was also looking for the same key.

Jacob had already been informed by Dina of the location of the share transfer contract, and of course, he also knew about the issue of the set of keys.

But at that point, Jacob had been busy taking care of Emily, so he hadn't begun searching for the key yet.

Emily had shown signs of a depression relapse after she had been rescued by Jacob.

Therefore, Jacob left Emily in Taylor's care and then returned to work. He began to deal with the business that had accumulated during his days off.

The first thing Jacob did once he returned to work was contact Carlos. He asked him to find Nora's key.

After all, Carlos was the one who had been closest to Nora at the end. As her boyfriend, he should know her best.

Knowing how important the matter was, Carlos set out at once to look for the key in Nora's apartment.

Before he left home, Leah stopped him. She questioned, ”Where are you going? Why do you always go out all day? If you are really bored, why don't you take Cherish out for a date?”

”Mom, I have something important to do! Please don't trouble me now.” Carlos looked at his mother in frustration.

”Something important? What kind of important things do you have to do?” Leah argued disappointedly.

'You just can't forget that bitch, Nora! Why do you bother to even make an excuse?' Leah thought angrily.

Deciding to ignore her, Carlos bypassed her and went to the doorway without another word of explanation.

Leah was extremely annoyed by his attitude. She followed after him and grabbed him before he could leave, and her eyes were full of suspicion.

Carlos was in a hurry, so he had no choice but to tell her everything as briefly as possible.

But Leah seemed to miss the key point. All that she understood was that Carlos was going to Nora's apartment. ”What? You plan on going to Nora's apartment alone?

No way! What if you think of her again while you are looking at her stuff?” Leah was clearly overthinking, though she still thought herself to be reasonable.

His mother's ridiculous ideas made Carlos's head ache. Nora had been his girlfriend, and she had also saved his life. It was natural that he couldn't forget her.

But he had neither the mood nor the time to explain anything to her. ”How about I take Cherish with me?”

Hearing this, Leah felt more satisfied and nodded with a smile.
