Chapter 1257 I Really Dont Want Him To Die (1/2)
Nora carefully laid Dina down on the sofa. Before she had even taken two steps forward to leave, Dina picked up the bottle again and was ready to continue drinking. Seeing this, Nora quickly grabbed the bottle away from her hand.
”You can't drink any more. You've already drunk too much, you're as drunk as a skunk,” Nora chastised her.
Looking at Dina, she concluded that she must have been boozing continuously over the past few days. Indeed, she surmised that Dina must have gotten into the habit of drinking once she awoke and falling asleep after she was inebriated again.
Originally, Nora had thought that Dina would go through a temporary bout of depression. But now, she had discovered that Dina had given up completely and didn't seem to have a plan to fight back at all.
At this point, Nora became a little worried about Dina. Initially, she had planned to use Dina's connections to smooth the way for her. However, if Dina was even unwilling to work to prove her innocence, she would not be able to rely on Dina's help.
Seeing Nora grab the bottle from her hand, Dina was obviously not happy. She frowned and lurched to her feet at once, trying to take the bottle back, but Nora easily side-stepped her reaching hands.
Dina was caught in her own clumsiness, and staggered as she tried her best to stand firm. This made her descend into a blind rage suddenly. She pointed at Nora and slurred angrily, ”Who the hell do you think you are? Why did you take my thing away? Give it back to me, or else you will be in deep trouble. Do you hear me?”
Apparently, her words were supposed to sound threatening. Although Dina was drunk, and her stammered speech was interspersed with hiccups, Nora could still sense the old hard-heartedness in her voice. She could see how hard-hearted Dina had always been.
But Nora remained totally expressionless upon seeing Dina like this. Instead, she lifted the bottle higher and lightly shoved Dina down on the sofa. Then, she yelled at Dina like speaking to an unruly child, ”Now, you just sit here. I am going to cook some soup to deal with your hangover.”
After shooting a disgusted glance at Dina, Nora went into the kitchen.
As it was not her own kitchen, Nora was not familiar with it, so it took her more than ten minutes to cook the soup when it might usually have taken her only a few minutes. As she came out of the kitchen with the steaming soup, she saw that Dina had fallen asleep on the sofa.
