Chapter 1252 Face To Face (1/2)
Ethan's cold eyes stared at the man for a moment. It wasn't like Ethan was afraid of the man. Instead, he didn't want to give the traitor another chance. He shifted his gaze and waved his hand, gesturing for the nearby assistant to drag the man out.
That man's eyes widened, and he started wailing like a little kid. Everyone around him ignored the screams. They held his arms ruthlessly, and eventually, his cries went farther away.
Ethan squinted his eyes at the wailing figure at a distance and shifted his gaze to Estelle. The corner of Ethan's lips curved up when he noticed the look of horror on her face. Her compassionate eyes continued to stare at the man that was being dragged away from the room.
With a playful smile on his lips, Ethan walked up to her at a slow pace, only to stop half a foot away from her. ”Are you scared?”
Estelle jerked up and swept a horrified glance at the demon standing in front of her. The close proximity frightened her to the bone, and she took a few steps back. How could Ethan let her get away that easily? His mischievous smile widened to form a creepy grin. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her to his chest, firmly holding her by her waist.
This only made Estelle even more terrified. She started trembling in his arms like a dried leaf. In the past, she had only known that Ethan was a vicious and merciless person, but now, when she saw his cruelty with her own eyes, she was more frightened of him.
She struggled to get rid of him, trying to push him back. Ethan's hold on her waist tightened, and he grabbed her wrist with his free hand.
He stared at her with his dark eyes. ”Estelle, you have changed.” Ethan leaned against her ear. His lips nearly touched the smooth surface of her ear, sending a shiver down her spine. ”You used to have the courage to challenge me.” His hot breath was enough to make her tremble all over again.
Estelle pushed him back and raised her head. She didn't remember that she had once challenged this devil.
Who cared if she had ever been that courageous in the past? It would be better if she stayed away from him. But at the present moment, Estelle couldn't ignore him. She had to stand firmly on her ground to show him that she wasn't afraid of anything. Estelle tightened her face only to think of one query in her mind, being effectively provoked by his words. ”What did that person do to you? Why did you treat him like that?”
Ethan's expression darkened as he heard her question ”He betrayed me. Isn't that what we should do to punish a traitor?” His mouth quirked up to form a sinister smile. ”If you also betray me, you will have the same end.”
Cold sweat started forming on Estelle's forehead when she noticed Ethan's smile and heard his low voice. It was the same smile and speaking tone that could frighten anyone so much that they wouldn't have any choice other than to kneel on the floor. But Estelle wasn't just any girl. She was fiercely stubborn. ”You promised me that after this matter i
