Chapter 1171 Darrens Things Were Snatched Away (1/2)
Just as Jacob was about to sign the contract, Sam suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
He stood in front of Jacob and said, ”Mr. Gu, is there really no choice left for us now? Do you really have to sign away the company to Darren?”
Sam was not willing to accept the circumstances.
Apart from Jacob and David, he had also been there from the very beginning of HT Group. Sam was a part of the company just as much as they were because he had been with them at every step.
Although David and Jacob were the ones who had started the HT Group, Sam was the one who had handled most of the office affairs, especially in David's absence after Rita had given birth to their baby. As such, Sam could understand the pain Jacob was going through right now.
”Yes, I think so. You know I can't lose Emily and our baby,” Jacob replied.
When the image of Emily's crying face appeared in Sam's mind, he couldn't say anything else to stop Jacob from signing the contract.
”All's well that ends well, Sam. Nothing is more important than family. Just take this and send it to the address Darren gave us,” said Jacob.
Then, he slumped back into his chair, feeling frustrated and defeated. As Sam picked up the contract from the table, coldness flashed through his eyes momentarily, but he didn't let Jacob sense it.
When Sam came back, it was already 9 a.m. in the morning. With a simple nod to tell Jacob that he had done his job, they both acknowledged that all they could do now was to wait for Darren to contact them.
Meanwhile, in F Country, Darren, Dina, and Nora were sitting in a conference room where the air was thick with tension and suspense.
For the first time in her life, Dina had appeared in public with very little makeup, and she was wearing flat, comfortable shoes, which were not her usual choice.
For some reason, Dina didn't feel like making herself look beautiful in front of Darren. Perhaps she thought that no matter how beautiful her face was or how attractive her figure was, she was nothing but a pawn in his eyes. A disposable pawn who could be discarded by him at any time.
Meanwhile, Nora looked like someone who had been drained of all life because of how pale and sickly she looked. Ever since her confrontation with Darren, she had been in a constant state of panic around him.
