”What are you looking at?”

Emily put down the comfortable pillow and walked over to look at Jacob's phone. ”Wow, where did you get the photos of these supermodels?”

”David sent them to me. He's going to begin shooting in a few days.” Jacob didn't notice Emily's jealousy. Like an unsuspecting fool he even held his phone up so she could see more clearly. ”I think this one looks quite good. What do you think?”

”I'm not sure. I don't have a taste for these things, you know. Who did you say looked good again?”

Jacob fell silent. . . . . . . . . . . . Suddenly, none of them looked good anymore!

Emily picked up the facial cream from the bedside table and applied some to her face. She peered at him through the mirror and said, ”I didn't know you were picking supermodels for David now. Your eyes must be tired from all the work, right?”

”There's no need to be jealous,” said Jacob, trying his best not to laugh. Then he took out a book from the drawer and handed it to Emily. ”See!”

The book looked familiar from the onset. Emily frowned when she couldn't remember where she had seen that book before. Taken by curiosity, she opened the book to the front page. ”It's the sketch I did many years ago. Where did you find this?”

Jacob paused for a moment and looked down at the book she was holding. ”Well... . . . . . I found it in an old box.”

This book was given to him by Emily many years ago. ”This is my dowry,” she said to him then. Jacob could never forget the look of determination she had on her face that day. In fact, he could remember every single detail about her and that day.

”Is this book all you've got for your dowry?” Jacob said to her then, as he looked at the book with contempt.

He continued, ”What am I going to do with this?” Emily had looked up to him with pride and said, ”This book contains my dreams. It's invaluable to me. It'll be worth a fortune if I get famous someday! Make sure you keep it safe.”

Jacob could never forget how her eyes sparkled as she spoke about her dreams and aspirations. Then they got married and she had devoted her whole life to him without question.

Emily was going through the book in high spirits when suddenly Jacob picked her up in his arms from behind.
