His question sounded like a big joke to her and set her blood boiling, so she grabbed his collar and looked straight at him with her sharp but bloodshot eyes.

”If Jacob loves you, he won't be eager to get rid of you like this!”

Ray growled in disappointment and grabbed her shoulder, forcing her to look straight into his eyes, and continued, ”Did you hear him or not? He said you two are just friends. Friends! He doesn't love you at all!”

Michelle stood there dumbly, utterly speechless because of his roar. Suddenly, tears welled up in her eyes and her voice choked with emotion. ”No, it's impossible. He loves me. He loves me!”

”He doesn't love you!” Ray thundered, shaking her slightly as if he could shake the truth into her.

Ray looked at her with fierce and piercing eyes as he really didn't want to see her foolishly continuing to be the third wheel between Jacob and Emily. She was so naive to have ever believed that Jacob really loved her.

The man had been using her!

”He loves me!”

she cried out, in a raw and choked voice, with her eyes tightly closed. Then, Michelle pushed Ray away and rushed out of the house.

She didn't want to listen to Ray anymore. All he did was speak lies because he didn't want her and Jacob to be together. She wouldn't buy it!

Jacob loved her!

”Michelle!”

Ray called from behind her and ran a few steps after her with worried eyes, but he stopped at last with his lips pressed together bitterly.
