Chapter 982 Meet Jacob (2/2)

She felt empathetic for what had happened to Emily. But all her empathy seemed to vanish the moment she saw her near Jacob.

”Who are you?”

Emily took a good look at Michelle. After a few seconds, she asked, ”Aren't you Ariel? The nanny they found for taking care of Rita?”

Emily remembered her clearly now. This wasn't a woman one could trust.

”I am Michelle, Rita's younger sister,” Michelle introduced herself, and she offered a handshake to Emily.

”Why are you here?”

Emily instinctively felt that something was fishy. The woman she remembered had a knack for wreaking havoc. Besides, she could feel that Michelle didn't want her to be here. It was pretty apparent that she was just faking the niceness.

”I've been taking care of him in your absence.”

She glanced at Jacob through the glass window. A triumphant smile appeared on her lips.

Although Jacob's eyes were shut, he could listen to them faintly through the crack in the door. From what he had heard, he could make out that Emily was indeed his wife.

”Well, thank you for taking care of him. But now that I am back, I will take it from here.” Emily's expression was suave but insinuating. She did not even try to hide her contempt for Michelle. Her eyes were determined as Michelle stared back into them. After a while, Emily delivered the final punch through her words. ”If you need anything, you can let me know. I will take care of it. Consider it as a token of appreciation for what you've done...”

No wonder they were a couple. Emily was as fierce as Jacob, and she spoke to Michelle with the same discarding, mean tone which he had spoken with just a while ago.
