Chapter 738 My Luckiest Things (1/2)
Emily heard the voice and came running in as fast as she could, ”What's going on? Why is the baby crying?”
Jacob looked at her guiltily and said, ”I don't know. Maybe he is hungry?”
Emily frowned and suddenly an awful smell stung her nose. After looking closely, she found that Jacob's clothed had shades of yellow stains on them.
”Well, I know what it is. Bowen pooped on you.”
Jacob's expression stagnated for a moment. He looked down slowly in utter horror and his face darkened, ”You brat...”
”Watch you tongue! Don't speak to your son like that.” Emily snapped at Jacob, like a lioness defending its cub, and quickly took Bowen off Jacob. ”Go and get changed, quick! The smell is starting to give me a headache!”
Jacob opened his mouth to complain but retracted halfway.
'Isn't my son dirtier than I am? Have you forgotten about your husband as soon as your son arrived?'
Disgruntled, Jacob left to get a bath and a change of clothes. However, just as he stepped out of the bathroom, Emily dropped a bag of dirty diapers in front of him and said, ”Please, wash the diapers too.”
Again, Jacob opened his mouth to complain but he retracted halfway.
'Okay, I'll do it.
You brat, just you wait and see.'
In the following months, Bowen grew up to be a healthy baby boy causing much grievance to his father. While, Emily's recovery progressed slowly and steadily. As a result, the wedding ceremony was gradually put on the agenda.
Jacob gave all his time and effort into planning and organizing a fabulous wedding for the the love of his life. Taking into consideration that fact that the baby was still too young to travel, the ceremony was to be held near Tyrone Mansion.
On the day of their much anticipated wedding, Jacob stood in front of the mirror for what seemed to be hours, nervously staring at himself and the tailored suit he was wearing. Perhaps, he had been waiting for this moment to come for a very long time, and now that it was finally here, it felt surreal. On the contrary, Emily looked more relaxed, dressed in a traditional, snowy white wedding gown with matching head dress and a bouquet of flowers in her hands. She thought about all the hardships the both of them hard to overcome, and after everything that had happened, her experiences had made her a stronger and better person. Today represented the culmination of all their efforts and she was as ready as she could ever be.
Beryl, in her flower-boy's clothes, stood beside and laughed, ”Daddy, you and mommy are old married couples. Why do you still look so nervous? I can't stop laughing at how cute you guys are.”
Jacob glanced at her from the side, ”Old married couples? Where did you learn that from? You mother and I are going to be lovers forever. We're nothing like old married couples.”
