Chapter 720 You Have To Make Me Embarrassed (2/2)
Emily, however, quickly moved away to avoid being touched by her and refused her politely, ”No, thank you. Don't bother. You are a good friend of Beryl's, how could I let you do that?”
The smile on Emily's face was so tender and warm that it was hard to believe she was the same woman who said all those poisonous things the other day.
Emily's polite attitude annoyed Ancho as she couldn't help feeling condescended on, even though that was not Emily's intention. Sh
d to make money, so we have to care about the money we are spending on this dress. Unless you would like to pay for it. Would you?”
Ancho stood there frozen as she watched Emily in awe. There was nothing short of disgust on her face, almost hatred, as her face reddened with anger. 'As if you really care about the money!
You bought all the clothes without even thinking twice.' Ancho knew that Emily was just making this up. This is was just Emily's way of humiliating her in front of everyone.
Ancho answered with an aggrieved tone, ”I think it's obvious that I can't afford to pay for it...”
”You can pay for it in instalments.”
Emily looked at her with a condescending look and said, ”Since you are working for the Gu family, you can pay for it with your salary. You won't have to worry about any deadlines. What do you say?”
Ancho was on the verge of exploding, but she had to play it calm and accept Emily's offer because everyone was looking at them and she felt embarrassed to say that she didn't want to pay for it at all.
Within a few minutes, the staff brought over a new dress and Emily put the new over her to compare it. While she was watching herself in the mirror, a faint smile escaped her lips.
Everyone around her were stunned by her captivating smile. They felt as though they had seen the blossom of bright-coloured mountain flowers, vibrant and full of life.
Everyone, apart from Ancho, as she was the only one with a disdainful look on her face, angered by the fact that Emily had strong-armed her into paying for the damaged dress.
Emily suggested, ”Miss Ancho, you'd better not touch anything that doesn't belong to you in the future, just in case you can't afford to pay for it. Don't you agree with me?”
”Yes, ma'am. You are right.” Ancho's eyes flew open as the row of heads turned to face her. But there was no rescue from this embarrassment. It was absolute. Torture. Utter humiliation. The memory would be seared into her brain forever, ready to pop up and torment her again.
