Chapter 719 Not at the Same Level (1/2)

Ancho was just hiding inside of Beryl's room while Emily and Jacob were talking with Beryl. Therefore, Ancho showed herself once she heard Emily and Jacob leave Beryl alone to pick out her dress.

Carefully observing Beryl's face, Ancho noticed a smile curve up in the corners of Beryl's mouth which made her feel a little uneasy.

Before Emily came back, Ancho was the only one Beryl trusted the most, apart from Jacob and the Xu family. However, everything had changed since Emily came into their lives.

'If things go on like this, soon Beryl will come to accept Emily. What need would she have for me then? I cannot allow that to happen no matter what. Even if Emily is Beryl's biological mother!' Ancho knew she would have to fight to keep her stay in the Gu family.

Ancho's ambitions didn't stop at Beryl. She wanted Jacob and everything that came with the Gu family! 'Why else would I lower myself to become a maid and a nanny. I am a beautiful woman with a college education. I deserve better than just being some house servant! I have sacrificed so much for this. I am not leaving here empty-handed!' ”Beryl, I didn't think that you would come to accept her so soon.” Ancho looked at Beryl and pretended to be sad as she continued, ”I'm sorry for everything I did before. It's all my fault. I was wrong to sabotage your relationship as mother and daughter...”

”Oh Ancho... It's not like that,” Beryl could not help feeling pity for her.

'I'm sorry, Ancho. I know you did everything to displease Emily for my sake... Watching me be close to her must be hard for you.

After all the doubts, Beryl was finally starting to ease in to the possibility that Emily was the mother she had lost. However, Beryl had been through a lot over the years and the emotional turmoil she faced recently made it difficult for her to make up her mind.

She just needed some more time to adjust to the changes in her life and to banish the turbulent thoughts in her mind.
