Chapter 684 Good For You Huh! (2/2)
'This is a startling transformation!' she mused, but she didn't pay much attention to that thought. She tried to shift her body to a more comfortable position.
Just as she moved, she felt a sharp prick on her belly forcing an anguishing groan out of her mouth.
Fortunately, Sean hadn't walked out of the door yet.
Cloris held the pregnancy test kit in her tight grasp and stared at the result in a pensive mood, dark clouds swirling above her head.
Soon the night came, and Sean came to visit her as usual.
The moment Sean walked in through the door, Cloris threw the pregnancy test kit at his face.
Sean's reaction was quick and he caught it before it hit him. Trepidation welled up inside him, but he managed to keep his countenance and voice cordial. ”Where did you get this?”
”I stole it.” Cloris didn't even bother to find herself an excuse, and confessed the truth immediately. Tired of going into a heated debate with this man, she asked, ”If I hadn't discovered the truth, how long would you have kept it from me? Sean Lu, you think you're very smart, don't you?
Well, good for you!” In the grip of silent panic, Sean desperately scrambled to look for excuses. ”Cloris, I can explain...”
”I am not interested.” Cloris cut him short, and continued in a cold voice, ”I won't keep this baby. It needs to go.”
Sean was stunned by the sudden pain spasms that quaked straight through his body. He barely managed to squeeze out a word from his throat, ”... Why?”
”You know why! The baby is out of favor. I don't want it to grow up in a world where no one will love it.” With a contemptuous look on her disfigured face, Cloris added, ”Especially when it has parents like us... Siblings...tsk.”
Sean objected, ”We aren't related by blood and you know that, don't you?”
”Well, we aren't real siblings, but we have been fake siblings for 20 years.”
”I don't think so! I don't agree with you!”
”But you have to.” The despairing look on Sean's face, gave Cloris a sense of joy, as if her debts were already paid. ”Don't let your arrogance fool you into thinking that you can rewrite history. You can't just ignore the existence of everything that's happened in our lives. As for the baby, it should never have to suffer for our mistakes. It doesn't belong in this world.”
