Emily was over the moon, stunned and elated by what seemed to have been an impossible dream all this time. Her doubtful grin exploded into a radiant smile that she hadn't worn in a long time.

Shocked and surprised, she gazed deep into the man's eyes, and her face lit up with happiness as soon as Jacob uttered her name.

”Jacob, do you remember everything now?” asked Emily.

Jacob's face, however, contorted with discomfort, as if he was still in great pain. In spite of the suffering, he clenched his teeth and wrapped his loving arms around Emily.

”I am so sorry, my love. I remember everything now.”

The sweet old memories and his deep, undying love for Emily were rekindled like a flame that once again shone brightly, spreading its warmth to those around it.

”I don't want your apology!” Lately, Emily had been so hopelessly desperate that this moment felt like a dream that was too good to be real. ”I want to hear you express your love for me! Just say you love me!”

”I love you more than anything in the whole world!” There it was, Jacob's old captivating voice. The one which reverberated in her ears for so long, rich with kindness and affection. ”Emily, you are my only true love.”

Emily's tears burst forth without restriction, like a waterfall, soaking Jacob's shirt.

Finally, at long last, the moment she had been waiting for so long had arrived. Her man had returned to her and she could hardly believe her own eyes.

Although, Emily was into his chest, the warmth of her body next to his gave him comfort.

He held Emily's little hand and pressed it against his chest to have her feel his heartbeat, then he said, ”It's beating because of you.”

Emily looked up to Jacob, their eyes fixed on each other and she could feel his heart beat faster in his chest. ”Lub-dub-lub-dub-lub-dub”.

The next second, Emily's face changed as she drew her hand back, and started to hit Jacob in the chest with clenched fists!

”You are so cruel!” Emily was so excited about Jacob's recovery that she almost forgot to condemn his recent actions. ”You have no idea what the past few weeks have been like for me. And you have no idea how hateful and harsh you've been to me. You hurt my feelings everyday! And I almost gave up!”
