Chapter 455 Is This A Clandestine Love Affair (1/2)

Emily stared at Jack with a blank face and blurted in a cold voice, ”Stupid.”

Jack did not utter a word. After all, he thought silence was a true weapon.

Of course, he wasn't stupid. He just wanted to attract and appeal to Emily. He had no other intention. However, his tricks failed blatantly. Emily was way too cunning to fall for that.

Jack was embarrassed beyond description.

Emily frowned and clamored impatiently, ”You can stand here and stare with your mouth wide open. Allow me to go.”

Jack had been humiliated like never before. He felt numb. He decided to flee to a nearby hotel to freshen himself up and hoped to get some time for self pity.

Emily wasn't interested in accompanying Jack, but eventually she went on to do it anyway.

Once they got inside the room, Jack rushed into the bathroom to wash himself. Emily settled down on the bed, thinking.

”Knock knock knock.” A person was knocking the door and stood right there, despite the door being kept ajar. Emily squinted and walked towards the door to attend the person on the door when she heard a voice saying, ”I'm here to serve the wine.”

”Let him in. I had ordered some wine,” said Emily.

In fact, Emily hadn't ordered anything but she decided to pass out a white lie as the waiter's face seemed eerily recognizable from somewhere.

The guard hesitated for a few seconds and let the waiter in as he considered that Jack was inside the room so Emily would be safe, anyway.

The waiter entered the room pushing the wine cart. He took off his hat and showed his face to Emily as he said, ”Here is your wine, my lady.”

Emily stared closely at the waiter to figure out his plan but failed miserably. She finally said, ”Leave it here, please.”

”Yes, my lady,” he replied, obediently.

”Magee, what on earth are you doing here?”
